Is there an actual "rule" about this, is just a courtesy, or do rules vary depending on the sponsor of the tourney?
We have witnessed teams strongly prevented from being on the infield at all prior to games. Today, a team used the entire right side of the infield diamond, taking grounders, etc. This was on a clean infield that had been dragged for play, and before blue was there.
What is supposed to be going on here? |

Varies from tourney to tourney, dont think there is a specific rule anywhere. Doesnt make since to me, because all teams dont get a clean infield to start. Most tourneys dont drag or rework the infield but every few games, so if you have second or thrid game, sometimes it already has one or two games on it, and still cant get on infield. Personally I Say give each team their turn on the infield and then play ball. |

I think it is a courtesy more than not, but unless both teams for EVERY game can get a shot on the infield, keep them off... Most games run back to back anyway, so there is little time anyway |

JB Athletics drags each field between games and prohibits taking inflield before the game...take it to the grass. |
