SAWNEE MOUNTAIN THUNDER

SM Thunder will be EXPANDING. After much interest in our program, we have decided to add a second highly competitive team directed towards building strong physical fundamentals and the sound mental make-up to perform in high school. The teams will be practicing together and be trained using the foundation and principles used to build the 6 time College World Series Champions in LSU (3 members of the coaching staff played at LSU during their first 2 National Titles).

We will be having three days of try-outs at Sawnee Mountain Field #3. The dates are as follows:
1. Monday, July 30th (6-8:30pm)
2. Wednesday, August 1st (6-8:30pm)
3. Thursday, August 2nd (6-8:30pm)

COACHING STAFF:

BASEBALL:
Adrian Antonini (LSU 1991-1994)
Since his retirement from professional baseball in 1997 Adrian has coached at the collegiate and high school level as both a head coach and an assistant. As a Head Coach he has delivered a Florida State Championship & multiple District (Regional) Championships.

Scott Berardi (LSU 1992-1995)
Scott is currently going into his 7th season as an assistant coach at Dunwoody HS.

Jared Mula (LSU 1990-’93)
Jared has continued in the baseball world upon graduating from LSU. While building a business, Jared’s love for the game has shown through his countless volunteer hours coaching youth baseball in Louisiana and Georgia.

Ken Rodden
Ken has built a strong baseball reputation in the community for his knowledge of the game and his devotion to aiding our young men grow as athletes and as individuals.

STRENGTH, SPEED & CONDITIONING:
Rick Zacholski
A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in 1983, Coach Z has been involved in the field of Health and Physical Education. For 24 years he was Athletic Trainer, Cross-Country & Track Coach at Miami Sunset High. Since 2007, Coach Z has been the Strength &Conditioning Coach at West Foryth High.

FINANCIAL PRIORITY:
The SM Thunder Baseball program has maintained a commitment to offering a highly competitive program providing exceptional instruction and ample practice time in a convenient SW Forsyth County location, at a very reasonable cost compared to most AAA/Major programs.

A few people have asked about the cost for the season (fall & spring are separate). Since starting the program 7 years ago the cost has never been more the $500/player(excluding Cooperstown). This has included indoor workouts through the winter months. By adding a few to the coaching staff this year the cost may be slightly higher but not by much.
