The 12u AAA Oregon Park Phantoms, based out of Marietta/West Cobb, will be holding tryouts for the 2012/13 season at Oregon Park located at: 145 Old Hamilton Road, Marietta, Ga 30064.
Oregon Park has a well earned reputation for developing great baseball players who possess a strong work ethic and character. We will continue this tradition.
More than that, we are fully committed to building a team centered on STRONG FAMILIES and a culture of HARD WORK, DEVELOPMENT and FUN.
Our coaching staff will be looking for athletic and aggressive players, kids who throw strikes and hustle, and most of all love the game of baseball.
Tryout Dates:
Tryout 1: Saturday, July 28, 10 a.m. Field 8
Tryout 2: Sunday, July 29, 4 p.m. Field 8
Each player will be required to attend one of these sessions, with a possible call-back. There is no charge to tryout. If you would like to start a dialogue beforehand, please contact us (contact info below).
Some people we have spoken to have said they will be on vacation or unavailable during the tryouts, so please contact us for a private workout.
Other Important Info:
- June/July 2013: Cooperstown! By all accounts it’s an amazing experience.
- We will be looking to play ~70 games between September 2012 and July 2013, to include: three tournaments in the Fall and 12 or so tournaments from February to July, plus some exhibition games.
- We will practice once per week September and October, perhaps with a couple of practices before a tournament, or the occasional practice in August/November.
- Kindly, players on this team do not play for anyone else during our off days/weekends. One logo, one team, one baseball family.
- We have two independent evaluators coming and will give fair consideration to every single player who tries out.

More details on the approach for the season:
- Winter plan: Speed, agility and strength training will be one to two times per week December and January at JCS. Each player who wants to should have a pitching development plan.
- Professional instruction: we will ask each player to work with a professional hitting instructor a various points throughout the season.
- Financials: Cost/Fundraising: Cost will be approximately $1,400 (not including the Cooperstown trip, more on that to come), payments of $200 due every two months over the course of the fall/winter/spring. We are very good at fundraising and acquiring sponsorships, the goal will be to work with each family to make this very affordable.
