The 2013 12U Sandy Plains Wildcats are pleased to announce our plans for the upcoming season.
ABOUT THE SANDY PLAINS WILDCATS PROGRAM The Wildcats Program offers long-term player development, a high level of competition, a convenient location and historically low team dues compared to other local programs, supported, in part, by the sponsorship of three annual travel tournaments (February Frost, Spring Swing and Stars & Stripes).
The Wildcats practice out of Harrison Park in Marietta (next to Lassiter High School), which is one of the premier baseball facilities in the Marietta / East Cobb area. We will conduct our evaluations at Harrison Park, and will also have dedicated, multiple weekly practice times at this facility.

ABOUT THE 2013 12U SANDY PLAINS WILDCATS Building upon a very successful 2012 season in which the 11u Wildcats won a significant majority of their games and multiple tournaments, this year’s 12u Wildcats Team will again be led by Mike Corbin (Manager), Ron Weiner (Coach) and Dave Johnston (Coach). The 2013 12u Wildcats will be a competitive AAA team, and we are focused on identifying families and players willing to dedicate the time and effort needed to be highly successful at this level to fill our remaining roster spots. All players will be chosen for their talent, dedication, coachability and positive attitude on and off the baseball field. Our Team will focus on character development, teamwork, and baseball skills.
We will play a robust fall and spring/summer tournament schedule followed by a guaranteed trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park (**WE HAVE A GRANDFATHER CERTIFICATE**).
Our focus will be on individual player development and improvement over the course of the year. To facilitate player growth, we have secured the commitment of Matt Brew, a former minor league pitcher in the Oakland A’s organization, to be our instructional coach and to lead our developmental efforts. We intend to implement a progressive and incremental year-long instructional program.

A quick reminder that our tryouts are tomorrow from 10:00 to 1:00 at Harrison Park. Please stop at the upper concession stand to register before heading down to field #4. There is no cost to participate.
If your player is interested in trying out as a catcher, please bring your catcher's gear. I have gear, but we can move through the evaluations faster if players have their own gear.
