Sandy Plains 9U Wildcats
Tryouts on Saturday, July 28, registration 9 - 10am, tryouts 10 - 1pm
and August 11, registration 9 - 10am, tryouts 10 - 1; 7/28 is on Field #1 and 8/11 is on field #3 at Harrison Park (next to Lassiter High School)2653 Shallowford Road, Marietta, Georgia 30066

This team was formerly the 8U Wildcats and this was the first ever 8U travel team in the parks 45 year history. The team ended up 7th in GA and 32nd in the US in 8AA kid pitch according to USSSA based on a power ranking of 946. This team beat the #2 team in GA the Elite Gamers Black (8AA kid pitch) in a 2nd place finish out of 16 teams in McDonough, GA. Every player was given professional pitching instruction and pitched in games, starters in tournaments and future starters in double headers. We played 55 games and we had as much fun on the field as we did on the play ground. We look for player parent chemistry as a very important ingredient. I have coached 44 teams at Sandy Plains Baseball and I know what it takes to improve and win. We will have a lite fall schedule but we will play in some tournaments, especially the 1 day tournaments, most players are playing football and other sports are highly encouraged. We will work around schedule conflicts. We will continue with professional pitching instruction and physical fitness workouts 1 - 2 times per week in the fall. We will go indoors in the winter and come out strong in the early season. We played in some 9U tournaments and we are very excited with the 9U full lead - full steal - dropped 3rd strike. We actually won some games against a few 9U teams and the boys were thrilled, we look to build upon our experience and make the transition to AAA ball in 2013. We plan on playing roughly 70 games in the upcoming year. |

Email me, Steve Curran (770) 880-6460(SOGLS@comcast.net) for the registration form and you can show up at 10am for your no charge tryout. Most parks have only a few fields and consequently the younger aged teams get bumped to find their own fields. Our parks have 12 fields and we have 4 fields that are convertible to our spceifications. |
