The 2013 11U Sandy Plains Wildcats will be hosting tryouts this Tuesday evening (July 31) at 7:00 PM on Field 5 at Harrison Park.
ABOUT THE SANDY PLAINS WILDCATS PROGRAM
The Wildcats Program offers long-term player development, a high level of competition, a convenient location and historically low team dues compared to other local programs due to ongoing sponsorship and fund raising. Total fees are expected to be less than $1000.
The Wildcats practice out of Harrison Park in Marietta (next to Lassiter High School), which is one of the premier baseball facilities in the Marietta / East Cobb area. We will conduct our evaluations and all future practices at this location. We plan on having a relatively light schedule in the fall (due to other sports commitments), and will resume a more vigorous schedule in the late winter / early spring timeframe.
This year’s 11u Wildcats team will be a competitive AA / AAA team led by Manager Todd Heron. In addition, we have secured the services of Matt Brew, a former minor league pitcher in the Oakland A’s organization to be our instructional coach and to lead our developmental efforts. Furthermore, we will never allow over-throwing of our young arms and closely monitor pitch counts based on American Sports Medicine Institute studies.
