12U Hobgood Copperheads
Are you looking for the place where your son can develop into a more impactful player while being core to a team?
A team that offers fundamental instruction with challenging opportunities in a positive, structured, and encouraging environment. The 12U Hobgood Copperheads may be just the right team environment where your ballplayer can develop and mature.
We are looking to fill 3-4 roster spots with players that have positive attitudes, love baseball and enjoy working to learn more. Players that give maximum effort, don’t fear making a mistake, accept instruction, support their teammates, want to improve and always have fun. We have a competitive focus, but do not win at all costs, and use the baseball experience to learn lessons both on and off the field. Positive support and motivation from parents and families are fundamental and vital to this process.
We will be looking to continue at the AAA/AA level, playing to the utmost of the team's ability, while developing players and a team battling toward Cooperstown in the spring. We already hold a certificate for 2013 Cooperstown! In the fall we will work on strength, agility and speed along with some practice time so the boys are ready for a fall tournament or two should it correspond with everyone’s football and basketball schedules. Early 2013 will include local indoor instruction along with practice to jump-start the season. Spring will hold about 10 tournaments before heading to Cooperstown.
This is the last year in youth baseball before making the jump to the next larger field of play. Many young men are already hitting their growth spurts and some will soon be taller than coaches. Others are yet waiting on their growth spurt and battling through the physical fitness gap. However, their patience and diligence will be rewarded. We value skills over just size and at this age focus more on process over outcome. We give serious assessment to players and families that have potential for joining the team. We need to talk prior to attending a private or closed tryout to be certain there is a likely fit for the player, family, and organization. We will discuss our honest approach to baseball which may or may not be the fit you are seeking. Please email s.mongold@bellsouth.net with players name, birthday, and parent/guardian contact. We will revert quickly with a player profile for completion.
Hobgood Park is a non-profit organization located at 4740 Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock, GA. We have a total of 10 fields. There are 9 fields at our main facility with the 10th located close by on Carmel Elementary School property. The "Carmel Field” is used primarily for added practice space. Thanks for all your interest in Hobgood Copperheads Baseball. We are expanding a closed tryout this Sunday afternoon, August 12, and have room for a couple more potential players with serious interest. With the right fit between both players and families our roster can be final soon thereafter. Registration and a short discussion in advance is required. The advance discussions with parents allows us both to be certain there is a likely fit for the player, family, and organization.
We are looking forward to a great time on the field. If you are interested in trying out just email s.mongold@bellsouth.net to get the registration form. As always, feel free to call with any questions. |
