Hello, this is Coach Stewart for the 12U Sports A Rama Spartans. We are still currently looking for players to join our program for the coming season.

A little bit about me:
I am a former 4-year starter at Albany State University. I have experience working with players ranging from ages 4-18 years old. During my college tenure, I also provided Albany-Lee County Little Leaguers baseball instruction. Upon graduating college, I had a short stint as a volunteer Assistant Coach at Albany State University. I was officially offered the job a few months after becoming a volunteer coach, but declined the offer to continue my baseball career. I’ve played two years of semi-professional baseball in Australia as an Outfielder/Pitcher for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Rebels and as a relief pitcher for the Canberra Cavalry in the Australian Baseball League. During my time in Australia, I also coached the U-14 and U-16 ACT State-Select teams in the National Youth Championships in Perth and Melbourne, Australia. Since returning to America in April 2012, I have resumed giving individual lessons to players in the Macon/Warner Robins area and will begin extending my services to future all-stars in the Atlanta area, specifically at Sports A Rama, East Cobb.
A bit more about our program:
The coaching staff (myself and a former college baseball player) have the philosophy that developing the individual player to play within the team system will yield a strong team. I am a proponent of moving players around (infield and outfield) to develop and gain a better understanding of the game.

About the fall/spring season:
The fall will consist of outdoor practice and indoor practice at the Sports A Rama facility. Outdoor practice will mainly deal with individual fielding drills and team defense. Indoor sessions will heavily consist of batting drills and bullpens for pitchers. We will also play 2-4 fall tournaments and scrimmage against local teams. Over the winter break, the team will meet indoors at Sports A Rama with a speed and conditioning coach. In the spring we will play between 13-15 tournaments and end our year with an end of season trip (parent and player choice of destination).

We offer individual tryouts at Sports A Rama. To set one up for your child, contact BJ Stewart 478-397-5089 (bjstewart1248@yahoo.com or Gerry Schmidt 770-977-9789 (gerryschmidt@bellsouth.net
