The creators of the Battle of the South proudly present the
2013 13u Brian McCann Wood Bat Classic
being held on May 20-27 at Forsyth County/Cumming area parks.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS ** This event will feature 48 teams from all over the southeast ** Pool play will begin on Monday, May 20. Out of town teams can begin play on Friday, May 24 if unable to arrive earlier ** Registration: $575 ** Team gate fee: $195 - No more daily gate fees. Bring as many fans you can muster and come and go as much as you like ** 4 GAME GUARANTEE ** Format: 48 teams will be broken in to 12 four-team pools. Each team will play a round robin(3 games) against other teams in their pool. After completion of pool play the top 2 teams from each pool and 8 wildcards will advance to one 32 team single elimination bracket. The remaining 16 teams will be seeded into a separate single elimination bracket ** FIRST CLASS TROPHIES: EACH player from the 1st Place teams in EACH bracket will receive a full size engraved Old Hickory Bat commemorating the event PLUS an autographed Brian McCann baseball. 2nd Place teams from each bracket will receive a runner-up trophy PLUS an autographed Brian McCann baseball. ** Fields will be prepped and lined before every game ** Rules: USSSA rules will apply ** 4 Umpires for each Championship game ** Tournament directors on site for the entirety of the event ** Scores and Pitching reports updated in real-time after every game
Make plans for Memorial Day weekend to play in the state's largest 13u event of the season. Games will be played at quality parks in Cumming and also at Aviation Park in Marietta.
UPDATE: This event will now be sanctioned by USSSA.
Lots of cool improvements from our past Battle of the South events like full-size, engraved Old Hickory wood bats for each player on the championship team from each bracket, Brian McCann auto'd baseballs for each player on 1st and 2nd place teams, FOUR umpires for the championship games in each bracket.... more to come.
