Established (3+ years) Sawnee Mountain Thunder Roth rising 12U team looking for a couple players to complete our roster for the 2014 spring season. We just finished a competitive spring season with a strong winning percentage and success in multiple tournaments at the high AA/low AAA level, including 1 championship and 2 runner up finishes. We plan to build off of that for next year and are looking for experienced travel players, preferably those with strong pitching abilities. We will play in the Lanier League in the spring of 2014, as well as 5-7 tournaments, and travel to Cooperstown next June or July (we hold the grandfather certificate for the park). Coaching staff includes a former college baseball player who does not have a son on the team.
Open tryouts will be held July 12 at 6:30pm and July 25 at 6:30pm on Field 4 at Sawnee Mountain Park.
Fall season will consist of Sunday practices starting after Labor Day, along with a few scrimmages. Indoor batting/pitching practices at a professional facility will begin in January. Fundraising for the Cooperstown trip will be required by all families who join the team.
