The 13U Redbirds playing out of Marietta, Ga would like to announce tryouts for the 2014-2015 season. The Redbirds just completed a successful inaugural season which culminated in a fantastic end if the year trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. We are looking to build on last years success and take the Redbirds to the next level.
Our 13U program is looking to field AAA/major level team with players who have parents dedicated to their development and success on and off the field.
Our focus is on commitment, fundamentals, and teamwork. Our coaching staff is dedicated to developing our players knowledge of the game and helping them grow into young men.
The Redbirds 13U open tryouts will be held on the following dates:
Saturday, July 19: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Wednesday, July 22: 6pm-8:00pm
Location: Mount Bethel Christian Academy
Try-Out Fee $25 w/Pre-Registration
$35 for walk up

Coach Julius Thames played locally at Lassiter High School and Kennesaw State University before playing professionally around the country; perfecting his game as a middle infielder and middle of the order batter. Julius has spent the last 3 years as a Head Coach in the Spartans Baseball Program. His desire and goal is to continue coaching elite talent at a high pace @ Redbirds Baseball

Redbirds Baseball is excited to announce the newest addition to the Redbirds Baseball family. Coach Tim Morris comes to the Redbirds as a 3 year veteran of travel baseball. His previous experience includes; being a member of the 2012 10U Sandy Springs Storm which won District, State and the World Series Championships. His most recent accomplishment was being the assistant coach on 2014’s 12U Ninth Inning Royals which won 2 tournament championships, 1 bracket championship and 2 tournament runner-ups. Tim is a perfect fit for Redbirds Baseball due to his strong belief in development and teamwork. Welcome Tim!
Tim joins Coach Julius Thames and Coach Matt Peterson who have both shown to be forces in the travel ball and player development fields.
Matt Peterson is a returning member of Redbirds Baseball. Mike is a certified personal trainer with a strong influence on proper pitching instruction and mechanics. Matt has been a coach, pitching instructor and trainer for The Hitting Factory (Clearwater, FL), Batter Up and Fury Legion Baseball. Matt also played baseball for Wallace State College in Florida. Matt brings 5 years of experience and strong focus on correct pitching/throwing mechanics and baseball IQ
Julius Thames is the founder of Redbird Baseball and has been coaching travel baseball for 5 years. Last year was the inaugural season for his Redbirds Baseball. After a very success first season, Julius plans to build on the momentum built during this past season. Julius played baseball locally at regional powerhouse Lassiter HS; he then continued his playing career at Kennesaw State where he still holds 2 records. Julius then moved on to the next level, playing professionally for 5 years. He has since become one of the leading hitting instructors in the area. Julius’ passion for development cannot be over stated, which shows in the production and advancement of many of his past players

******WEATHER UPDATE*****
Unfortunately due to the overnight rain we will be forced to cancel today's tryout for the 11U & 13U teams. We will we still have our 11U tryout Tuesday July 22 at 6pm Wheeler HS softball field and 13U Wednesday July 23 6pm Mount Bethel Christian Academy.
We will add another tryout date to make up for today's cancellation. Please stay tuned for future tryout date information. Pre-registration will remain open until the next tryout dates. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
