Midway Aces will be holding a 3rd and final tryout for the upcoming Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 season. This is a secondary tryout (main tryout was on 7/20) for those that had conflicts over the weekend.
**As a County Park team, you must be a Forsyth County resident to tryout as 75% of our roster must be comprised of County residents**

Team background - Philosophy
The Aces have just completed a solid 67 game schedule at the AA level and are looking to improve on its late season surge. We are not an Academy but have and indoor facility to provide training year around and give each player the opportunity to reach his potential. We will play a Fall schedule that includes 4-5 tournaments and then play a full Spring schedule of approximately 13 tournaments with an additional end of year trip to Ripken.
As head coach, my philosphy is the kids need to play. Yes, practice is huge and we will stress fundamentals, work ethic and discipline throughout the year and require the kids work extremely hard each and every time out. However, being put in game situations and getting at least 150 ABs a year is the only way to identify a kids true weakness so that it can be worked on in practice the following week.
Coaches Background
Former college player that has years of experience teaching the game and not just sitting on a bucket. Years of travel coaching experience at the AA, AAA and Major levels and takes a very active role in the teaching aspect of the game. Switch hitter that is able to teach the art of hitting and understands the nuances to hitting from both sides of the plate. NOTE: I will be looking for an additional coach for the upcoming season.

The Fall schedule and weekends we will play in the Spring will be finalized soon. Looking for dedicated families and players that just want to play ball. No surprises once roster is set and if you like communication on expectations then this is the place for you!
There is NO COST for tryouts and the above will serve as registration. We will make roster complete within a day or two of tryouts so that we can settle on a roster and get fitted for Fall gear. We have a team budget and tentative schedule and this will be passed out and discussed at the tryout. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.
