Format-This is a 2 day event. Day 1) The players will participate in drills. The drills will be in a practice/tryout style format run by trainers and coaches. The drills will be based on the positions that the parents inform the trainers that their child has a desire to play during the upcoming season. Day 2) The players will play 2 six-inning games in order to evaluate each player in a kid pitch game environment and a typical pool play Saturday. The games will have real umpires(not a dad behind the pitcher).
Cost-The fee for the tryout is $25. The fee is due whether you participate in day 1, day 2 or both days.
Coaches and Trainer: The 8U Halo-Stixx coaching staff/trainers consist of a combination of former college and minor league baseball players along with seasoned travel baseball coaches. The focus of the staff is to develop well rounded and fundamentally sound players both on and off the diamond.
Parents-We are looking for “quality” parents that have a desire for their child to be in a competitive “Travel Ball” atmosphere. No matter how good your son is on the field, if you don’t fit into our system as a parent he doesn’t fit into our system as a player.
Players-We are looking to put a product on the field that consists of fundamentally sound, well-disciplined, well mannered, hard working and athletic children. The staff at HALO prides itself on its players working hard and “Knowing the Game” of baseball.
Also, if you just want/need some work for your rising 8U kid pitch player please feel free to come out too. Our goal is to make all kids better at this game we love!
