My son has been playing b-ball at Norcross since T-Ball Fall & Spring leagues (Rec). He was on SEPA Travel (Team Atlanta) 12U last year and also played middle school b-ball.....yup, all at same time. He has also been taking lessons for pitching & batting at NSTA (Coach Clint Conley) for 4+ years. For past year he has been taking pitching lessons at 9th Inning. He has worked out/trained with 13U Norcross AAA team for Fall but he is AA class player. He has pitched 2+ innings in many AAA games and done extremely well....fast ball 58+ with a lot of movement, 2 & 4 seem, pitches curve and fork change up. However, his b-day is March and is 5 weeks outside of being 12U. He has not even started growth spurt so 5'1" tall at 90lbs. He is 200+ hitter....mostly to right-center gap but over 500 on base percentage....VERY high baseball IQ. He plays 2B and is about average for true AAA level but extremely strong arm and excellent glove. During Rec seasons is top one or two player on team.
Anyway, honest assessment (I'm former Coach too) of my son....great kid with terrific "coachable" positive attitude. Many instructors believe once he hits growth spurt he will be top tier player but above is where he is "now".
So, looking for "right fit" team that needs this type player that is true "AA" team. We live in Norcross area and would travel "some" for good fit....but Atlanta traffic limits that flexibility a lot.
