The Bullpen Indians, a newly formed 10U baseball team out of McDonough, GA are hosting an open baseball evaluation for boys who qualify for the 11U category of play according to the USSSA official rules. USSSA states that if a child turns 11 years of age prior to May 1, 2016, then he would qualify for the 11U category for all levels of USSSA play. (In other words, if a child already has turned 11 years of age prior to May 1st of this year, he is not eligible for 11U according to the official USSSA rules; he would be eligible for the 12U level) The Bullpen Indians are expecting to field a team in time for the beginning of the 2015-2016 season, which begins in August of 2015, while targeting some local tournaments within the Henry County area during the summer of 2015 to establish a league qualification level. The open evaluations will be conducted on Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at the Salem Baptist Church Athletic Complex off of Hwy 155, beginning at 10am, and will conclude after every player has completed his evaluation. Each player will have an opportunity to be evaluated for his infield, outfield, and hitting skill sets, as well as pitcher and catcher upon request. The pitchers will be evaluated from the USSSA regulation distance for 11U players, at 50’, and all fielding evaluations will be on a diamond with 70’ base paths per regulation. [In the event of inclement weather, the alternate date will be Sunday May 31st, beginning at 2pm] The Bullpen Indians will be anticipating a requirement to fill 6 roster spots, with a predominant emphasis on rounding out the roster with boys who have expressed an interest and positional strengths in the areas of outfield, and/or pitcher, and/or catcher. There will also be focus on identifying one additional utility infielder. All decisions will be made within 24 hours after the conclusion of the evaluation, and invitations extended within 48 hours. Please place all inquiries or questions regarding the evaluation scheduling, location, and equipment requirements with either Shawn Hallman at (678) 448-6579, or Steve Cook at (678) 672-9260. |
