Georgia Bombers Baseball will be hosting Tryouts/Clinics for 9U-16U age groups for our Inaugural 2015-2016 season. Tryouts will be a clinic type setting where your son will be put through 3-4 hours of drills, baseball situations, and skills assessments to test their baseball knowledge as well as be able to showcase their baseball skills in front of evaluating coaches for each age group. It will be important but not mandatory to make a team that both days are attended. Day 2 of tryouts or “Call Backs” will be more of a live game setting where pitchers will face hitters and defense will play the ball live off of the bat.
Georgia Bombers Baseball has partnered with Alpharetta Youth Baseball Association where our 9U-14U teams will play out of Wills Park and Webb Bridge Park. AYBA board members accepted this partnership effective July 1, 2015 with expectations that this partnership will improve the quality of both its travel and recreation baseball programs for the future. In addition to travel baseball, the Georgia Bombers staff will bring a number of additions to the recreation program including player clinics, multiple Coaches Clinics, and conducting Rec Player Assessments at each age group for the Fall/Spring seasons. ****Getting instruction before tryouts will not increase/decrease chances of making a team though it does give your son a head start on the Bomber philosophies and what we are and will continue to be teaching our players.

His staff at Grand Slam Sports Center combined with the staff of Georgia Bombers Baseball will provide an enormous amount of knowledge and are by far the most experienced development staff in the metro Atlanta area. The 14U Georgia Bombers will be led by head coach Mike Cicione. This team was known as the TGBA Warriors at the 13U age group. In their first year playing as a Major’s team the TGBA Warriors played exclusively in Division 1 tournaments, winning one tournament and losing in the Championship game in another while qualifying for the Gold Bracket in all but one tournament (winning the Silver Bracket in that tournament). The team finished the season with a .630 winning percentage (thanks mainly to a .930 fielding percentage and a .345 batting team batting average) competing against the best teams in Georgia and the rest of the southeast.
In 2014 Coach Cicione relocated to Georgia from California where he built one of the most successful baseball academies in the country (http://www.mikecicione.com/). Coach Cicione is an instructor at Grand Slam Sports Center in Johns Creek in addition to running the 14U Georgia Bombers. The team is focused on development through dedication to fundamentals, preparation and reps during fast paced, high intensity Coach Cicione practices that keep the players engaged from beginning to end. This formula leads to a team that is quickly cohesive and supportive of their teammates.
The fall season will include a combination of practices (minimum two per week), friendly games and one or two tournaments. Our indoor facility at Grand Slam Sports allows us to stay sharp during poor weather. The spring season will include a full complement of practices (minimum two per week) and tournaments in the surrounding areas and throughout the southeast.
We are looking to add high level players at all positions to us build on our success from this past year.

14U Bombers will hold a Make-Up Tryout this Saturday, July 25th at 4:00. Location is at Wills Park Field 4 (Turf Field).
