The 2015-2016 Sandy Plains Wildcats will hold their 16U tryouts during organizational workouts run by the Sandy Plains Baseball Academy on Sunday August 9th from 3:00-7:00 PM
Head Coach Donell Nixon will once again lead the Wildcats on the field for the 2015-2016 season. The team will return the entire coaching staff and look to provide a schedule that will feature several showcase opportunities for the Wildcats in addition to Perfect Game and Triple Crown events.
Derek Varnadore returns as the team's Pitching Coach for his second year with the team. The former Georgia Dugout Club Elite 96 All-Star pitched at Chattahoochee Valley CC before becoming becoming Auburn's first pitching triple crown winner since Brent Schoening in 1999. Derek was drafted in the 9th round by the New York Yankees in 2012.
Shawn Kimberley will return as the Infield Coach. In his third year with the Wildcats, he brings 10+ years coaching experience at ECB at all ages from 10-18 as well as High School coaching. He played college baseball at Berry College in Rome, Ga.
