Should be a good tournament this weekend with many of teams people have talking about as the "Teams to Beat."

East Side Hurricans
Team Wilson
EC Titans
EC Yankees
643 DP
OP Sharks
Atlanta Bluejays
Kennesaw Generals
Cherokee Reds
EC Longhorns
Carollton Clippers

I've had the chance to see a few of the teams playing and believe it should come down to 3 teams, Yankees, Bluejays and the Longhorns.

I watched the Longhorns play this past weekend. They are the team to beat. Solid Pitching, Solid Hitting and Solid Defense.

Should be fun to watch.

Youthbaseball,
I watched the Longhorns this past weekend and agree they have great talent. In watching them two things stuck out to me. 1st - I was surprised that they only piched 3 maybe 4 kids all weekend the 1st tournament of the year. I kept thinking that that has to take a toll on a 9 year old. 2nd - the coaching, a very demanding group. We will see.

I hope they had a few 4 or 5 pitch innings thrown in to those long outings and their warm ups were short. If not, that is a lot of stress on nine year old arms this early in the season.

Longhorns vs. Bluejays Saturday morning in pool play should be a fun match up to watch.

The longhorns played the sharks tonight and won 10-0.

They threw 2 pitchers. One threw 32 pitches and the other threw 18 pitches.

Triple Crown results are posted on our website after every game. Go to www.triplecrownsports.com then pick baseball, tournaments, and georgia. Click on the spring frost tournament and look to the right there will be a box that says results. Click on the box ad pick the age group you would like to see. Hope this helps and thanks for supporting Triple Crown Baseball.

The Longhorns won a hard fought battle against the EC Yankees. Two very well matched teams. Game went to extra innings with the longhorns coming out on top.

Great 9u baseball.

Congrats to the Yankees and the Longhorns.

Stuck around after being bounced, but glad. The ECB game lived up to the hype. Sick pitching...6 or 7 lead changes...8 Innings.. agree with Youth that teams are a coin flip. Dont see many competing with them on a regular basis. Along with Yard Dogs Black, should far and away be the 1,2,3 in the state.

I agree that both EC teams and the Yarddogs will collect a lot of wins. I was impressed with OP, for their 1st tourny they looked solid and got better the deeper they went. We will get to see Wills Park and Acworth this weekend. I will hold my judgement on who will be the best until all the coach pitch teams play a couple of tournaments and adjust to this game.

If you saw the game you would know that the Yankees played a solid
game and the longhorns made many mental errors (still early in the
season). If the longhorns are on I don't think any of us can beat them
they have so many talented players and will only get better.

Leebeg, I watched the game as well and both teams made some mistakes - but what a fun game to watch. The point I was making is teams like the Longhorns and Yankees have been playing kid pitch for over a year and their ceiling for improvement in my opinon isn't as high as some of the kid pitch teams that are just starting out. I believe that as these teams play more tournaments the gap will close. I've watched the Horns and Yankees play for over a year and believe there is more than a couple teams that will compete by the end of the year. We will see.

baseballnutz, I believe that the difference between ECB & programs like 643 (over those of the Wills Parks, Ringgolds, Acworths) is the coaching. They know how to develop baseball players. Kid pitch isn't just an adjustment, its an entirely different game. Its the reason those programs always win, and why parents continue to do whatever it takes to get their kids into those programs.
