An update on tryout dates for the 12U Cherokee Reds – Black AAA team for the 2017/2018 season.
Tuesday, July 18th 6:00 - 8:30 pm
and
Saturday, July 22nd 9:00 AM – 12:00 pm
Field Location: Barnett Park (10795 Bells Ferry Road, Canton GA 30114) - FRONT FIELD
*Catchers please bring your gear
*No fee for trying out
When responding for tryout registration to dan.maurer01@yahoo.com please include the following
-Players full name
-Parent name and contact phone #
-Teams played for in the past 2 years
- Primary positions played
-Players private instructors (if any)
*We have a Cooperstown Certificate (Reds tradition to attend).
*Our team instructor is Brian Blough, formerly a pitcher for the White Sox minor league organization and Kennesaw State, and has coached at the Majors level for ECB. Additionally the coaches of this team (Dan Maurer and Nate Hardison) have a combined of over 20 years of coaching experience and strong knowledge of travel baseball in the North GA area.
*We will compete at the AAA level. The 12U Reds-Black team will build on the success of the 11U team who went from 5th in the nation in USSSA AA rankings to be promoted to AAA this Spring with 2 tournament wins and 2 runners up for the season.
**As a non-profit organization, budgets are much more reasonable than our private for profit counterparts in the area. We have several sponsors as well and expect much of the Cooperstown fees to be covered.
*Practice locations and schedule - The Reds practice exclusively at Barnett Park. It is our dedicated facility so we decide when we practice and for how long, compared to other teams renting field time. Barnett Park has undergone several upgrades in the past year, and will continue upgrades this season. We also have secured an indoor facility in Woodstock.
The Reds are the longest standing travel baseball organization in Cherokee County with a strong history of fielding competitive teams in a family friendly environment, and building our young players skills and character.

Update: Cherokee Reds-Black 12U will NOT be holding a tryout on Saturday 7/22 due to a scheduling conflict.
Instead we will host a tryout on Friday 7/28 6:00 - 8:30 at Barnett Park in Canton (see address in above posting)
We are looking to fill our last 2 roster openings.
Private tryouts this week are also available.

Cherokee Reds-Black 12U is looking to fill our final roster spot with a talented well rounded travel player.
We will be having a tryout on Friday 7/28 at 7:00 - 9:00 (NOTE UPDATED TIME). If this time is not possible, a private tryout this weeken 7/29 - 7/30 is also possible.
