Does anyone know of Middle School baseball team that transitions into great high school team? My son is naturally gifted (great hand eye coordination, quick runner, & feels throws ball smoothly) and has played baseball since 5 years old (started travel at 7 years). I feel like I need to challenge him more so he can get better and develop more. He has & continues to be best, second, or third best on the team which I feel is not good since he is not challenged by other players.

AGREED!

Many of the most talented kids don't even play for their middle schools, especially since they have little to nothing to do with the high school team. So no, there are no great middle school teams.

If you want your son to be challenged skip a year or two but don't miss Cooperstown at 12u. I was in the same boat as you and decided to stick it out during 12u for Cooperstown and it was totally worth it. Yes, my son was one of the best players but the Cooperstown experience was just amazing. Then I had him go from 12u straight to 14u and it worked out well.

What level is he playing ... AA, AAA,or Major

The answer could be as simple as moving him up, so he can still play with his age group.

Big difference from level to level !!!

But if he is already playing Major ... then move him up!!

Not sure if you read the post about HS age ball, but it appears that much of the MAJOR 14u kids skipped 15u and went to 16u. The entire 15u ECB Astros is a rebuild this year. I've also heard of 643 doing this as well as other orgs. It's a common thing to play up.
