I cannot comment on the ducking or the "Facts" as you say it. All I can say is here in Calif. We love to face all the top teams. We often put together Fundraising tournaments with all the top teams as we did last weekend. We charish the challenge week in and week out. I am a true believer of "You Must Face the Best to Be the Best". you see our team will not get better by winning tournaments and beating teams 15-0. We duck nobody. In fact we go after teams that keep droping out of tourney's we enter.

Obviously the Longhorns have had a hard time beating the Yard Dogs, Of your your 5 meetings last year the Longhorns are 0-5. And 1 You need to make this game happen, You coaches need a barometer of where your team stands. This is just my opinion. I have no idea how far apart your 2 teams are from each other. Heck you may be 300 miles...LOL All I do know is they need to play. I know our kids love it everytime we play Oakley. In fact after the games win or lose you look over on the playground and all the boy's from both teams are over there playing with each other. We as parents can learn from this as it is only a KIDS game.

As far as our pitching this past weekend. We had to pitch from 46 and not the normal 44. If you know anything about baseball you know that makes a huge difference. Most of the games Oakley and Nomads play are low scoring.

One a last note. Our the Longhorns or Yard Dogs planing on going to Cooperstown next year during 10U week? Would really like to see you out there.

And1 good luck the rest of the way and I am sure one day we will cross paths.

Cali baseball-yes we are planning on going to Cooperstown next year. I am not sure what that measures? fields are 200ft... too small to guage a 10u team. doubles and triples become singles, routine pop flys become home runs. great experience and friendships are what you get from CT.

Youthbaseball, That is what Cooperstown is about. Going there and meeting other teams from throughout the US. Building Freindships and Memories that will last a lifetime. Oh yeah and play some baseball. I completely agree with you on the 200 ft fences and Fields. We are going to have a very competitive schedule next year. We are planning on going to Cooperstown,E32,Winter/Spring Nattionals in AZ, Either AAU or Super Series National Championships. We will be trying to qualify for the NYBC like everybody else. Maybe we can fit in the East Cobb Invitational..LOL

Keep me informed about the Double Header if it happens. We do the same out here with a lot of teams. Double header and BBQ.

Good Luck

I follow the 8U, 9U and 10U age groups and have seen the Longhorns play several times. Very good defense but yes the pitching speed posted is way off. They win on defense and have a few kids that throw low to mid 50's and one in the upper 50's which is very good for this age. The best 10U pitchers throw high 50's to low 60's. Nobody throws in the mid 60's consistantly at 10U. I'm not talking about two pitches out of 30, I'm talking about average. The reason you gun a kid for several pitches is to see a pattern. The angle of gun, etc can throw off a pitch or two so you throw out the top 3 or 4 pitches and bottom 3 or 4 and you get what the kid is actually throwing. Hope this helps. As you will see, next year is all about changing speeds and locating. Nobody will throw it by the best teams so this debate is mute.
