13.01.C If all Pool Play games have been completed and at least one (1) or more rounds of Bracket Play have been completed, the game results from any uncompleted round of Bracket Play shall be removed from the tournament standings (for the purpose of this rule only) and Georgia USSSA Baseball Tie Breaker Rules shall be used to determine the tournament’s final standings from the point of the last completed round of Bracket Play completion.

Then it sounds like U-trip got it right. Stos are the champs no more and's, if's, or butt's about it. $#!t happens, nobody can control Mother Nature!

Great tournament by the way, a lot of great baseball!

USSSA clearly states out how tournaments are determined if called for weather. The tournament, like it or not, was done just like all the rest of the usssa tourneys throughout the year called by weather and all the rest of the state tourneys this past weekend. Dont agree with it, but its stated in the rules what the tie breakers are, and it goes to last completed round that all unelminated teams completed. Looking at the rules it was done correctly with the "runs allowed" being the tie breaker.

Guys,

It's a moot point. USSSA has awarded their state championship and it's a done deal. I can't fault the Astros for accepting it...who wouldn't? I also can't fault the Renegades for feeling slighted...who wouldn't? Either way, the decision is made and it's not going to change.

Personally, I am moving on the the next tournament. With the way we hit the ball this weekend and having arguably my two hardest throwers with six innings a piece left, I felt like we had a puncher's chance but I didn't and won't lose any sleep over it.

Yep, Rule 13 covers pretty much every conceivable situation. Tournament incomplete during pool, after pool, and within bracket.

Looks like USSSA followed it to the letter of their law and these have been the published rules, so like it or not, they have ruled the correct and "true" champion.

Unless the game is settled on the field, there is no such thing as a "true" champion. ****, I feel like we're talking about the BCS in college football. I apologize. Sounds like U Trip got it right. I have always thought it was the higher seed. I know some Astros parents thought it was as well as some had congratulated the Renegades parents Saturday night when everyone knew rain was coming

Renegade 1,

Yes, we would be willing, just let us know when and where! But I feel like others have said it would be a tall order. We still had pitching left as well and our bats finally got hot in the Buzz game, so I guess like HS said we felt like we had a punchers chance. Our boy's were so bummed out, heck after spending over 14+hours at the field Saturday my son almost teared up when I told him Sunday morning that we weren't playing and the tournament was canceled. But at the end of the day, we had a great time, played some great teams, at a very well run event so who could really complain to much about that. I would have loved to have finished it up and had a shot at the State Championship but it does not look like it will happen. Let me know if you can work it out?
