Hearing interesting stuff on Southside teams. Rumor has it Gamers Red and Gamers Blue are finally getting smart and combining to make one quality team. Both teams had great year end runs with Red playing well in Gulf Shores and Blue winning the Grand Slam World Series. This should be a very competitive team if all the pieces fall together. 5-6 kids on each of these teams with alot of talent. Think there is also some shake up going on with Georgia Academy/Home Plate as Academy's coaches are said to be going to Home Plate and are on the recruiting trail. Thoughts?? Additions??
All true, and like I said previously...only a matter of time before someone on the side get their act together and provide a quality team that could compete with anyone.
look for the homeplate team to be an elite group... the pitching from the ga academy team was as good as anyones... if they find the bats to go with it this team will play with anybody... it is also being run by a quality group of coaches and strong families
Why would this be North Vs South...we are talking the state of Georgia. All teams have an equal opportunity to compete. Good luck to all those that chase the Astros....Dont blame the "north" for something the "south" could have been doing.
What were the records last year we are talking about?
Key pieces? We've got key pieces down here. We have some kids that can play with any in East Cobb. There aren't as many yet but hopefully they can get it together soon. We had a 1st round MLB draft pick from Newnan this year who played out of Home Plate. They had 6 drafted over all.
I simply stated that not all the talent is in East Cobb. I'm sure they have a great program and have had many really good players come out of it. But we also have some talented players on the south side. If you take the time to read my post it says "There aren't as many yet but hopefully they can get it together soon."
Looks like the Tifton Mavricks and the Silver Britches may be the teams to beat on the Southside
and the Astros and the Roadrunners the teams to beat on the Northside
I agree 100%... It will be interesting to see the player changes made with both teams, The astros should have a different look to them from the team last year. new coaches new players... i would also keep my eyes on the Colt 45's, they have professional hitting pitching and strength coaches and have added the top players from the WhiteSox
