Folks-
The NE Atlanta travel ball family was stricken with tragic news this past week. As a local family prepares to say their final goodbyes, let’s remember that this sport we love and cherish and that has brought many of us together, is, after all, just a game. Prayers going out to family and the entire Cherokee Reds organization and anyone else who had played for this coach or with his sons.
God speed #46. May your hits always find the gaps, and your bounces always be true.

It is with great sadness that my thoughts and prayers go out to #46's family, friends, teammates, coaches and classmates. This tragedy will be a part of each and everyone of them, and all of us, going forward, whether we knew him well or just through the baseball community. It is supposed to be a game through which the boys learn to succeed and to fail, how to stand on their own and how to rely on one another, but more importantly, in which they make lifelong bonds of friendship. Hopefully, through this loss, the bond all of our boys share, all of us parents share, our entire baseball community shares, will become stronger. Rest in peace #46. |

Our family and the Cherokee Reds thanks everyone in the North Atlanta baseball community for their support, thoughts, and prayers to us during this difficult time of losing our Luke #46. It is a loss beyond words but your support matters and shows what an incredible group of people you all are and how tight this baseball community is. It matters, and provides faith and strength to us and our great team of 13u’s. It also teaches all these players that courage on and off the field is defined as pushing on and doing what needs to be done in the face of fear. And the importance of being a productive contributor to the community. Thanks again from the Reds and look forward to seeing you all out on the field. |
