PrepStar Grinders Baseball, a travel baseball program based out of Cobb County, is seeking up to two additional players for the upcoming 14U season that are interested in long-term development. Specifically, we are looking to add two way players that will improve our catching and pitching depth but we will consider any potential player that has experience on the mound.

If interested, please send your player's information to pstarbaseball@gmail.com and we will contact you regarding the tryout.

Program Highlights:

For our 14U season, we will continue to play a competitive AAA / Majors schedule and we will wrap up the season in July 2020 with an optional trip to the Dominican Republic for games with local teams and community service in partnership with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Weekly practices will begin in September 2019 and will continue throughout the course of the season until the end of June 2020. Outdoor practices will be held on the baseball field at Whitefield Academy with additional workouts being held in Whitefield’s new state-of-the-art indoor facility.

During the Winter months, the team work with the coaches at Pinnacle Prospects on speed & conditioning along with a throwing program to increase arm health and strength for the Spring season.

Team advisor and coordinator Mike Shaheen, varsity head baseball coach at Whitefield Academy, who formerly coached at Wesleyan High School, will lead our developmental staff and along with returning coach Des Atwell who also coaches both baseball and softball at Sprayberry High School. Joining Mike and Des will be pitching coach Aaron Fossas who is a pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds’ farm system and an offseason instructor at Pinnacle Prospects. In addition to Mike, Des and Aaron, we will also have dedicated paid infield and catching instructors at practices throughout the course of the season.

At the beginning of each season, the coaching staff will create a customized development plan for each player designed to improve their physical and mental baseball skills. The coaches will meet with the players and parents throughout the season to measure each player’s progress towards their developmental plan.
