Thursday, July 16 at Wills Park - Field 1 @ 5:30

Rain Makeup Date
Tuesday, July 21 at Wills Park - Field 5 @ 5:30 (only if we are rained out one of the two dates above)

Focus and priority of 8u baseball with the Georgia Bombers:
- Development, Development, Development of ballplayers
- Teaching players how to play the game the right way from day one
- Attitude, Focus, Hustle and Being A Great Teammate
- Pitching with the priority being mechanics and being able to throw the ball correctly with accuracy.
- Development of catchers
- Proper hitting mechanics in line with Bombers Baseball philosophy
- Proper fielding mechanics
- Learning how to play multiple positions within the Infield, Outfield, and Pitcher.
- Teaching boys how to overcome adversity knowing that this game has a lot of failure within it and players have to get over the failure and be ready the next opportunity.

Season Outlook:
Fall 2020 (September-October)
- Sunday practices
- One optional combined weekday practice per week due to players that play other fall sports
Winter Training (January-February)
- One weekday practice and one weekend practice at Grand Slam Sports Center in Alpharetta. If weather is nice on the weekend we will go outside for practice.
Spring Season (March-May)
- practices will he held twice a week during tournament weeks. Non-tournament weeks will consist of a practice, a scrimmage or a weekend off.
- Plan will be to play two tournaments in each month March, April and May. We will plan to be finished with the season Memorial Day weekend for families to enjoy summer.

Our goal as an 8u program will be to develop our players and teach them the game of baseball, discipline, respect of playing the game the right way, and preparing them for 9u baseball. We WILL NOT burn the players out. The biggest opportunity in playing Bombers 8u baseball over Rec baseball is the amount of practice time we will have to develop the players. It will not to be to play 50 games. That will not happen. Our goal is to practice 3x more than we play. Development occurs on the PRACTICE FIELD not within games!

Practice Locations:
Alpharetta team will practice out of Wills Park and Webb Bridge Park.

Forsyth team is still TBD but looking like possibly a High School softball field in the South end of the county and we may mix in practices at a field on the north end of the county too so we can accommodate players from all over Forsyth.
