SANDY PLAINS BASEBALL presents
THE 4th ANNUAL FEBRUARY FROST: February 17 - 19th 2012
Teams,
Come play at one of the nicest parks in Atlanta! Located in East Cobb, we have a full service concession stand, grass infields/dirt mounds, batting cages for each field and plenty of parking! The past 3 years we have had 50 teams in all ages 9u-14u. You want to play in this tournament. * Plus, $100 Gate Fee (so that you don't have to be bothered with gate fees at multiple parks, and to save some money for your parents).

We currently stand at 30 teams who plan to play.

* In 12u, we are looking for ONE additional team to get us to 8 teams. Come out and play.

The 12u Age Group has now added team #8 , the Dunwoody Destroyers.

Everyone,
It is with sadness that we report from our fields Sunday morning that they will not be playable for at least 3 days or more this week. We were up at the fields at 11AM with a very large crew ready to get everything ready for the day. When a big dump of rain that is still continuing came our way at 1130AM while we were working on the fields. As many know when Rain like this comes after fields are wet and continues there is not a lot that can be done with dirt, or drying agent. Those who have been with us in the past have seen us take fields that many thought were not fixable and fix them over a 4 hour period. However, that was with rain stoppage for good, sun coming out, or heavy winds. We have none of that this time.
We are all about finishing tournaments, and went through many scenarios for this one. However, at every turn of a scenario we ran into issues with field time, playability of the fields due to the rains etc.
As stated our rain out policy is:
No games = $50 admin fee, rest refunded (trophy costs, and baseballs)
1 game = 50% refund (umpires, trophy costs, baseballs)
2 games No refund (Umpires, trophy costs, baseballs)
HOWEVER, we would like to offer for everyone that was registered in our tournament the following.
A $50 discount to our next tournament Memorial Day weekend (No memorial day games). The offer is good for all until end of March, so that we can count teams, but we believe it to be the least we can do since the tournament ended with rain.
We hope you will continue to come back to Sandy Plains for tournaments. I know some will want to offer solutions, but again the fields will not be playable again until Thursday and our recreation league has started already. So, there are not options for this one, however, with Stars and Stripes it is after Recreation season so there is more options for me to extend a tournament.
Thanks for your patronage, and we hope to serve you again in an upcoming tournament.
