My name is Mike Kirksey and I will be coaching the 12U East Cobb Astros next season. I currently coach the 12U East Cobb Braves. We have won 3 National Championships/World Series in AAU, USSSA and Triple Crown over the past 4 years and we will put a national level team on the field in 2013.
I appreciate the phone calls and emails with your interest in having your son try-out for my team next year. I will be putting together a team that can compete nationally and have several kids that play 12U majors this year as 11 year olds already committed to play. Having already coached 12U and playing up in 13U events this year, I know what it takes to compete at this level and firmly believe that this area has the talent to compete with any team in the country. We will play some 13U events on the bigger fields as kids gain tremendous experience realizing the areas of weakness in their game. My coaching staff will be highly experienced and your son will get a ton of individual instruction while playing with the best and competing against the best.
With that said, I have many open roster spots and this process will be as transparent as possible. If you are interested in having your son try-out, please send me an email.
