Every year at this time of year, we go through the same routine with the same individuals. I am talking about the parents that move from team to team after they have destroyed them. I am talking about the same folks who seem to think that they know more about baseball than coaches that have played or coached the game at the highest level. I am talking about the same folks that think their children are ready for the upcoming MLB Draft. NEWS FLASH! NO 11 or 12 year old was drafted in this years draft, nor will they be drafted next year. I am talking about the same folks that leave teams without paying their fees and move on to the next team, and will do the same thing next year. I am talking about the same folks that go from tryout to tryout every year telling one coach that they are coming to play with them, while still telling another coach that they are playing for them also.
I am talking about the same people that are never satisfied. If their child doesnt perform, its the fault of the program or the coach. I am talking about the same people who move from team to team looking for a free ride, and some coach who is just focused on winning a youth baseball tournament lets them play. I am talking about the same folks who wouldnt know LOYALTY if it smacked them in the face. I could go on and on. You all know the USUAL SUSPECTS!!!
At what point are these people going to realize that, guess what the game is about to change. The field is going to get bigger, puberty is going to kick in, and all this nonsense is going to stop. Because, at that point the thing thats going to matter is Speed, Power, Arm Strength, Hitting, Fielding, Size and god given ability. When those tools start get measured, all this Little League stuff is not going to matter. The fact that a kid won an Elite 32, Little League World Series, or USSSA tournament is not going to matter. If the kid has TOOLS and CHARACTER, then that's what will matter.
