I thought I would share a story from last weekend's tournament.

We were tied in extra innings of the championship game.
The opposing pitcher, who came in the inning before, was pretty much having his way with us. There were two outs and nobody on and he and our #4 hitter were in a good battle...probably a 7-8 pitch at bat.
Eventually our hitter won the battle and hit a game and tournament winning homerun. Our parents were cheering and our players came flying out of the 3rd base dugout jumping up and down and met our hitter at the plate to congratulate him.

What did the pitcher do...
he politely waited for our hitter to run the bases and for our team to stop jumping on him. Then, he weaved through our players, still at the plate, and high fived our hitter.
"Classy move young man"...his parents and coaches should be very proud. I can only hope that when my son is in a similar situation, he acts the same way.
