I don't think Im the only one but when is everyone going to be fed up with USSSA and TC.
Week after week it appears they have forgotten why we are here. THE KIDS.
1.I'm personally sick of 3 game guarantees to get rained out when it appears we could have played but since you played 2 games we keep all your money and since we saved money not having to pay the umpires or field use we just made more money. 600 dollars 2 games. you do the math its not work that. I understand you can control the weather but you can control the effort that goes into trying to make the games. happen. But why work harder when we have your money already.
2.or we can not find qualified umpires that know the rules or understand the game at all. Why is a state tournament would you not have your best umpires on the field. especially on Sunday. Then their ego get in the way. I don't argue balls and strike or bang bang plays but not knowing the rules and cheating the kids is enough. I think they forgotten they are getting paid and I think pretty well they should know there job a little better then what some of them do. This is not all umpires. Their are plenty that care about what they do and love the game then the others just looking for a extra paycheck.
3. What's the point of the tournament director they cant do anything anyway. I love how they blame the place they rent the park form for the umpire organization etc. But you know they are putting there name on it and it represents there organization.
But I guess since they have the market cornered and we all want to play the best teams we have to play by there rules. We will all keep driving hours and spending a lot of money on travel and stuff to keep getting bent over the barrel. I just ask to use some Vaseline or something

Not for nothing ... but it was pretty sunny all weekend.
We played in Grand Slam this weekend - some friends played USSSA and got "rained out" for today. That's one thing I can say about Grand Slam - when it did actually rain this year and we were in their tournament, they made the effort. One weekend, we had to get reduced to playing the two pool games on Sunday ... and they gave a break on the entry and gate fees.
If they had a better system of classifying teams and keeping them honest, they might get a foothold. |

Plus they all use fields that are HORRIBLE. PG advertises Lake Point Park. Most of the teams never saw anything except old HS fields with non working scoreboards and stinky bathrooms.
But enough about East Cobb...lol.
Seriously, does anyone REALLY believe a scout saw your kid this past weekend? Nah.
Another guilty organization is Team Elite. Showcases my behind. And sending out an email saying the feedback from scouts was "great" just to appease after you rained out a bunch of teams last weekend. Please stop insulting our intelligence. |

The scouts where there. I also seen head coaches of colleges. Not sure if they saw your son or my son. Doesn't matter. I seen lots of colleges represented there. |

My point is there are 30+ fields used and many are very sub standard. Scouts might be at LakePoint and East Cobb. If you didn't play there, a scout didn't see you. |

That's not the point either. My son will be seen bc I'll make sure of it by the choices we make and the contacts we have. I'm not falling for or relying on the spin from these tournament organizations.
I know a kid who went to a PG $600 "showcase". He's being "followed" now. What a joke. |

It is somewhat true that if your kid is good enough, he will be seen, but not completely.
Unless your kid is one of the studs out there that a lot of people are looking for, it takes a lot of work on the part of the player to get "recruited." It's a combination of being seen by the right scout/coach at the right time. That might be at a tournament, a showcase, a camp, or individual workouts later in the process. If you're at one of these tournaments and you want to be seen by a particular coach/scout, you should be reaching out to them and letting them know where you're going to be playing. It's all about being proactive when going through the recruiting process. If you're not one of the big time well-known studs, they won't see you unless they are looking for you. |

Rippet just because you did see a scout doesn't mean they were not there. If your son is go they will find him. Coaches talk and they talk to scouts. Word of mouth is one of the best tools. I have had several coaches talk to me about my son and they all have not seen him play. |
