I will begin with the pluses: no question that Lake Point is a Top Notch facility. The playing fields are great; the seating and overhangs are comfortable; the scoreboards showing team names, innings, who is pitching and hitting, MPH and type of pitch thrown excellent. Restrooms clean. Parking is plentiful. I even like "vendor row". BUT, I think PG is going to find out the local teams in the future will be more selective as to how many tourneys they sign up for. $5 dollar parking with $10 daily/$25 weekend passes is a bit over the line. We all know why they won't allow coolers or any food or drink to be brought in: 100% mark up at the concession stands! We all know that Disney World is expensive but THEY even allow coolers! You can also get a bottle of water or coke at Disney for $2.50! The format also is simply unacceptable: 36 teams this weekend with only 25% playing something meaningful today! You guys have the fields; please reconsider some silver and bronze brackets in the future! |
