Does anyone know of any indoor space that can be rented for baseball practice? I know Sports A Rama has space in Roswell, but I was looking for something closer. We are out of Decatur.

Thanks!

How about Top Dog in Buckhead. A bit west for you but for sure closer than Roswell. You can check them out at www.topdogsports.com

Phillips does not rent his place for batting practice. He only does lessons there and actually is pretty good at what he does...and has a nice place.
The Batter's Box off of Panola Road is a new spot that does rent their facility to teams. We have been going there for about a month now. He has about 6-7 cages and 4-5 soft toss areas. I do not have the number but the guys last name is Moody. His daughter played softball at UGA. Directions: Heading East on I-20 take Panola Road exit. Turn left. Go to Panola Ind Blvd (Checker's Restaurant) - turn left. His spot is the 3rd driveway on the right. The building does not face the street.

Thank you for the info, gohard.

I've found Phillip's place and instruction to be top notch and very effective. We'll check out the facility on Panola. Not far from us.

Just curious, how does Phillips teach hitting over there? Rotational Linear, Does he have the players loading early or spread out or just take what the player does naturally and improve on that. I have heard nothing but good things about his training but haven't really heard his philosophies or techniques. Thanks,

Toprank,

Coach Phillips stresses making solid contact with power to the opposite field. But I couldn't break his technical or theoretical approach down into "hitting language" for you. Although, he does seem very adept at sizing up kids's natural hitting ability. I don't mean to sound like a commercial for him here, but I could sense a growing confidence in my boy's approach to every AB after working with him. And to me, hitting IS confidence. Within two to three lessons - and a couple of minor adjustments - he was driving the ball away with power against some top pitching.

What else impressed me was Phillips's follow-up. He actually called on Monday to see how things went in the last tournament. Nice touch. Money well-spent in my book.
