Does anyone know why that divison is a choice if the allready have a major class. Who would fall into that clssification if they made teams be in that class?
I'll take a stab at it, but I don't know for sure.
When I went to the USSSA site, I didn't see any Elite class of teams, only Elite stature of tourneys. I think Elite does not refer to a class of team at all, but a class of tournament where USSSA decides who they consider to be Elite among the Major teams to play in the "Elite" World series. They might consider Major State champs as Elite, and maybe winners of Super NIT's, then perhaps teams with very high point totals and/or power ratings.

The USSSA Elite is the World Series held at Disney for those winners and some 2nd place of the Super NIT's. Teams can also qualify by winning the Elite WS and by winning the Major World Series the previous season. With the expansion to 32 teams for 2009, some of the Super NIT's have 2 berths.....meaning you only have to get to the championship game. In 12U last season, for example, the PC Vipers won the Charlotte Super NIT and the NG Bombers won the Tn Super NIT.
