I went last yesterday. In 10u eastside beat sandy plains in a pretty good game. I think final was 8-6. Sandy plains had a chance to get another at bat and had the play but just did not execute it. Was about even teams I thought. Good game to watch. Watched some of acworth vs oregon park storm. Looked about even also tied 7-7. Sandy plains is beating a paulding county team now. Best two teams in this one look to be kennesaw and home plate. I think Kennesaw wins this one but you just never know. |

Anyone watch the big kid with the Central Park Titans, in 13u?Hits the ball with authority and what a force on the mound. Braves baseball looked like a well coached team. |

12U finals was an exciting game, EC Warriors took early lead with a few dingers and went up 7-0 on EC Thunder by the 3rd. Starting pitcher for Warriors got into a bit of trouble after 3, and once they went with the lefty, the Thunder pecked away and came back to go up 10-7. Olson, for the Thunder came in a pitched 3 soid innings holding the Warriors to 2 runs in the last inning, Thunder wins 10-9. |

Critical Mass, The web site isn't updated for some reason. Who won the ECB Lightning vs. Forsyth Outlaws game? What was the score of the AAs vs. ECB Warriors. Any details are much appreciated. |

Ultimate Division 12U Forsyth Outlaws beat the East Cobb Lightning 7-4. Lead in game. East Cobb Warriors beat Alphretta A's, by one run, I believe 7-6, Semi Final East Cobb Thunder beat Forsyth Outlaws 14-0, Semi Final East Cobb Thunder beat East Cobb Warriors 10-9, Championship

The Powder Springs Titans won the 12U American Title. They beat the Kennesaw Cobras fairly easy 6-1. The Titans only lose was to ECB Warriors 6-3. I was watching the Thunder comeback against the Warriors in between the action of our game. That was a great game by the Thunder. |

This could all be avoided if tournament organizers would simply complete the updating of the results all the way thru to the end. Why is this so difficult? I've seen many times where the organizer's team gets eliminated and then all updating stops. If their team wins you can bet the results will be updated all the way thru. |

for those of you who played in it, how'd you like the format? How about the organization that ran it? Good experience? Facility okay? |

The tournament finished up after 9 pm on Sunday night and the Director who posts results gave up a ton of his time last week and all weekend. My guess is he actually had to go back to work Monday morning and thus a delay. He did get all the scores up by Mon. evening. For the record, his team didn't play in the tournament so there is no ulterior motive.
If you haven't run a tournament before, I would be more careful in your criticism.
This was the largest USTBA event ever in GA and while cold, most teams seemed to have a lot of fun. This format works great with teams of varying skill level as it keeps most teams in it until mid-day on Sunday. It might not be a very good format in a highly competitive, similarly skilled field of teams. I think this will become a great kick-off event at Sandy Plains for years to come. |

coach Mark wanted to thank the sandy plains group for making the tournament so enjoyable. I came out and watched a couple of games and I liked the format. Very good for the type of teams that entered. There is more demand for those types of tournaments. Not every team around is a major type team and the 10u league I thought was very good for the teams. All the teams except for one were all about the same which made it a joy to watch... |

Just in case any of you want to come to our 9-12U May 22-24, It will be run the same way as the Feb Frost, but warmer. No Memorial Day games, Basballs provided, and just as an FYI all 9AM Sunday participants were called and an email was sent to all coaches Saturday night during Feb Frost. I hope all of you will come participate or watch during the May 22-24 tournament, we are also going to team up with Mazzone 13U for overflow and to help grow the 11U group. Charlie Dino |

I think USTBA had a reasonable concept, awarding 2 divisions....effectivley 1st and 2nd place. Now that they have an Ultimate division, it appears that these are "value" tournaments where coaches make the decision to play in them and still have a reasonable chance to win, place or show. Bang for the buck seems good, but I still think that if you do not make the big bracket, you did not win anything. After all 2nd place is really the 1st loser. |
