Tony V has posted the game times for this weekend's Spring Frost. Now if we can just get the weather to cooperate, we can get this season started.

OK let's hear it. How did the "home cooking" work out? Who got ripped on the pool play match ups?

pool matchups look ok to me. I think everyone would rather see Astros Vipers later in the tournament but it is what it is. It will be interesting to see the pitching matchups in order to save arms for elimination games.

Bandits - Longhorns ... best part is when they shake hands afterwards and you can see the huge size differential. I saw it last time they played and it was shocking. Looked like 12 year olds versus 8 year olds...and the 8 year olds won.

Anybody want to talk about the 12u match ups in pool play? Hard to be the new team on the block. The Legends play the Astros at 8pm Fri. and the Yankees at 8am Sat.

Looks like the weather forcast for this weekend has taken a turn for the worse. Let's keep our fingers crossed. 8AM Saturday morning is sure going to be tough.

Boys, Papa needs one of those bag things. I am so excited I think I might pee my pants. I have had it both ways and it seems so much more fun knowing that you will be seeing the best teams available. I am not used to these teams this early. This promises to be at the very least interesting.

Hey CatchitUP, Welcome to the big leagues. In 12U there are very few pretenders to play although I will admit you appear to have jumped into the deep end of the pool. Looks like we will see what the new boys have or have not early.

Baseballpapa,
Sorry If I came off sounding like I was whinning, wasn't my intention. Can't wait to play the big dogs , would've jumped in anyway but I think there was a little push.

So what happens if a couple pool games are played but the rest of the weekend is pretty much rained out. Do they try to have shoot-out style games to finish or go into next week?

bball-fan,
It depends on how much gets done. Did each team finish their pool play but the elimination play get rained out? If so, they may award 1st and 2nd based on how teams seeded out. Something like that happened two years ago. Games were played on Fri and Sat, but Sunday was a washout.

Typically they don't go into the next week as the fields are not available.

OLD coach,
You are a funny guy. Im not ridin on that wagon unless you have the canopy and cooler built on it now.

Hey if we happen to loose to the bandits saturday; SO WHAT ? We sure wont be the first or last team to loose to the bandits.
What we will do though is go out and try to play our best and move on, win or loose. We are looking forward to having the chance to play the best competition we can play.

Well you know who I am, Who are you and what team do you coach ? So we can follow your progress.

Here is the latest forecast:

Friday:
100% chance of rain/thunderstorms
High of 58/ Low of 51

Sat:
80% chance of Thunderstorms
High of 58/ low of 37

Sun:
60% chance of snow showers
High of 41/ low of 26

If this tournament happens, there will be some creative thinking in getting it played.

If you belive in historical trends, this is a good sign for the Slugfest next weekend. Typically one of the two (spring frost or the slugfest) has decent weather. (The 10 day forcast for next weekend shows sunny and highs in the 60's)
