Looks like we'll get the Slugfest in this year and I can't wait. Doug always does a good job when we actually get the tournament in. Let's all remember this tournament is for charity and make sure all the kids know what there playing for. Knowing that a baseball tournament makes life easier on child in need is far better than any trophy. Have fun and PLAY BALL!!!!!

Hear brackets are due out Tuesday.

I agree with Big fan let the kids play the game and have fun. To all the parents that like to heckle the other teams kids and talk about other kids while they're playing. Grow UP! Put up the cow bells and the negative cheerleader chants etc. Just simply enjoy the game your child is playing. I so tried of seeing grown adults getting to arguments and sometimes fight over a game that their child will forget the next day. Baseball is sometimes life long lessons and don't let be a bad memory.

I agree 1000 %. Been dealing with and listening to all hub bub since my son was 6, now he is 13. Its time to let the kids play, coaches coach and the parents be supportive parents. Im guilty of some of the crap but ive convinced myself that this year is the year to let the BOYS handle their business, I am going to be dad this year and im going to enjoy watching my son be a part of a team.

To cheer for your team is fine and I can state that our 10U kids love the cheers and look forward to them. But to cheer against the other team is wrong and should be avoided. I thought I read a post on this site that talked about when the time was right to stop the chants and cheers. 10U is getting close to the time to stop in my opinion but what do I know. This a special tournament for a very special cause and we all should remember that we are playing this one for more than ourselves.

AMEN !

This is a great point you have brought up. The "crap" as you call it Lftg25 is allways exclusive to us parents and coaches . 99.999 % of the kids dont get involved in the "crap" they just want to play baseball.

We would do well as adults to follow thier lead.

I've been to 3 tourneys already (watched 16 games), and have noticed that 90% of all that has gone the way of the dodo bird. It was very pleasant.

We stopped the cheering at the begining of our 11U season; I beleive you let your play speak for itself. Baseball is a game that demands respect and our boys have been taught to do that very thing. We have also discussed with our parents the very same thing. You cannot control what the other dugout or stands do; you can set an example for those who are watching. A great line from a good movie The Final Season and I quote " How do you want to be remembered".

This brings to mind the famous quote from Alabama's late coach Paul "Bear" Bryant who once told one of his players after he put on a over-exuberant celebration act shortly after scoring a touchdown, "Act like you been there before son".
