Why is it that some tournaments don't seem to be able to get there act together for rain delays?

We are playing in the Smoltz-Grissom wood bat this weekend. Our first game of the day was scheduled for 10:50 this morning. We get there around 10:00, and,,, The 9:00 game has not even started. It was not raining. The feild was prepped and ready. The hold up? The Umpires were waiting for the OK from the tournamant director.

- No updates on the website or the weather hot line. I understand weather delays, but why not update the web site and hot line? Why have them if you are not going to use them?

now you know why not many teams participate in this tournament. It has been run into the ground over the years. Just a complete waste of time. I am suprise Smotz/Grissom are still associated with this substandard mess. JMHO of course

I totally agree. Check out the 13u website for the Mazzone Tourney. Kudos as this is how things should be updated and operate in my opinion.

After playing in it, I have to agree. The kids had fun, but it was the little things. Between each game, the grounds crew came out and rechalked the batters box. But the never redid the foul lines all day. This is 9U. Who really cares about the batter's box when there are no foul lines?
