Spring 2018 TCS Points Championship

Overview

ALL-NEW for the Southeast Triple Crown Season, the 2018 TCS Points Championship is an exciting new opportunity to crown the “Top Dog” in the Southeast! Teams of all skill levels and abilities will be eligible to compete, with Champions being crowned in each age group from 8U-14U. Competing for the same Championship, Division I and Division II/III teams will have unique opportunities to score points each week, which will be updated every Wednesday at our new home, www.tcsoutheastbaseball.com!

Prizes

Overall points CHAMPION in each age group (8U-14U) will receive the 2018 TCS Points Championship CUP

&

And a voucher good for one free TCS event for Fall 2018 or Spring 2019!!!

Awarding Points

Points awarded for each event are determined by the number of teams in the division, and final place at the tournament’s conclusion. (Example: 12u tournament Champion places 1st out of 25 teams, that team would be awarded 25 points, 2nd place would receive 24 points, and so on). Every team playing in an event will be receiving points toward their end of the year total!

DOUBLE POINTS WEEKENDS

Some tournaments will be worth DOUBLE points as our normal events! (EX: your division had 10 teams first place would get 20 points second would get 18, third 16 and so on)

1. March Mayhem 3/16 - 3/18 (ATLANTA, GA)

2. Back to School Backyard Brawl 4/20 - 4/22 (ATLANTA, GA)

3. Showdown in Savannah 4/27-4-29 (SAVANNAH, GA)

4. North Atlanta Open I 5/11 - 5/13 (ATLANTA, GA)

5. North Atlanta Open II 5/18 - 5/20 (ATLANTA, GA)

6. Battle at the Beach 5/25-5/28 (ST. AUGUSTINE, FL)

7. Summer Shootout 6/15 - 6/17 (ATLANTA, GA)

8. Firecracker Finale 6/29 – 7/1 (ATLANTA, GA)

Crowning A Champion

At the conclusion of the Firecracker Finale taking place June 29th-July 1st, the 1st Triple Crown Points Champions will be crowned in each age group! In the event of a tie, the deciding factor will be determined based on overall record for the 2018 season!

Additional Rules and Guidelines

· Any Division II team may only pick up a maximum of 2 Major/Division I players to fill any roster spots in order to field enough to play in any Division II event.

· Any Major/Division I player that plays down as a pickup player is INELIGIBLE to pitch.

· Teams caught using an ineligible player will automatically forfeit the game, and will be recorded as a 7-0 loss. Further disciplinary action may occur at the discretion of the tournament director.

· While we understand unforeseen circumstances occur during the season that prevents all normal rostered players for making a tournament, teams are still allowed to pick up players for an event, given that player is NOT on an active roster that is playing in that same event.

· In an attempt to keep the game as fair, fun, and as competitive as possible, these rules will be STRICTLY enforced at all times. Any teams found in violation of these guidelines may be subject to forfeiting their points for the weekend, and any further disciplinary actions deemed appropriate. Teams will be placed in their appropriate Division, and we do not allow teams to “sandbag” and play down a division.

Points will only be awarded if the event is FULLY COMPLETED.

If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this new opportunity, please reach out to:

Congrats TC on what sounds like a great new way to enjoy your tournaments. Your new website is also impressive and looks amazing. Many may have the same question as I do about which bats are allowed at the younger ages (13U & 12U under). The new website states in the "Bat Rules" section that at the 13U the length to weight ratios have been waived. Does this mean that a 13U player may now swing a Drop 5, Drop 8 or Drop 10 as long as it has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp? Also, the new website states that 12U and under may now use Wood Bats, can you please confirm. Thanks in advance

Cut/Paste from new website "Bat Rules" drop down menu main landing page.

Bat Rules
13u and Younger: All bats -5 or greater must be stamped BPF 1.15. Must be a baseball bat – no restriction on weight or length as long as bat has “BPF 1.15” stamp. All -3 bats must be stamped BBCOR. Wood bats allowed.

https://www.tcsoutheastbaseball.com/bat-rules.html

Also appears to state same message in Tournament Rules drop down list as well:

https://www.tcsoutheastbaseball.com/tournament-rules.html

11. No steel cleats in the following age groups: 10u and younger.

12. 13u and younger = High School bat weight/length differential rule is waived. 14U and older = -3 restriction in effect.

13. Uniforms: Numbers mandatory, matching uniforms recommended.

Here are the updated Bat Rules, as seen on the GA/FL events via Triplecrownsports.com. Once BETA Testing with the new site has been completed, all Bat Rules, Tournament Rules, Who's Coming lists, Lodging, Schedule/Results/Event History etc. will be updated. Thank you for your patience!

SE Triple Crown Bat Rule Modifications

*Please note, these rules only apply to Georgia and Florida Franchise events only. National, Invitational, and Showcase events may vary*

8U-12U: May swing ANY drop, but must be marked BPF 1.15. USABat certification will be allowed, if you choose to use it. Wood bats allowed.

13U ONLY: May swing -5 BPF 1.15, BBCOR -3 or wood.

14u: -3 BBCOR unless otherwise specified.

15U-18U: Wood bat only, unless specified otherwise on that event's "Who's Coming" list/Event home page.

To be considered a wood bat, it must be made of a single piece of wood. All other bats including bamboo or two piece must meet BBCOR standards and have the BBCOR stamp. BAUM Bats are legal in TCS play.

Bat Rules apply to the age division you are playing in, not the age of the player or team. Penalties for illegal bats will be assessed as per the Official NFHS rule book.

Effective April 7, 2017, the following bats may not be used in Triple Crown Baseball events:
2017 CF Zen Balanced (-8)
2017 CF Zen SL 2 3/4" (-10)
2017 CF Zen Zero Dark 2 3/4" (-10)
Custom 2017 CF Zen 2 3/4" (-10)
Custom 2017 CF Zen Balanced (-8)

Re-tooled models of these bats may be used in TCS play. Once returned from the manufacturer, these new bats will have updated model numbers and new orange end cap and stickers indicating the corrected performance standards.

DeMarini has concluded its youth baseball bat BPF audit and determined that these bats do not consistently pass the BPF 1.15 standard.
