I don't believe that the best 16u would beat all of these teams, some yes, but not all. Some of these teams have 6 to 8 really good players with a few of them being nationally ranked.
Also, let's not forget that 2 of the top pitchers in the country lost in the first round and they typically dominate in summer ball. That says something about the talent here in Georgia.
Agreed, the top HS teams have some of the best 17 and 18u players. Thinking even a top 16u team would "beat them all" is a massive stretch.

Houston winning over Pope, Valdosta with a win over RR, Allatoona winning and Alpharetta winning. If you are betting person take the opposite of what I pick. I came in very last place in March Madness pool at work out of 30 people.
And it's Woodstock over Grayson, Lassiter Brookwood is still undecided, and mill creek and parkview did move on.
So you weren't ALL wrong. Sad not to see an Etowah/Woodstock Matchup. |

Some good games last night, no real surprises. Still some "if" games today to determine who makes it to the semis. |

River Ridge looked strong all the way down the lineup as they swept Valdosta and Winder Barrow. They just need to adjust the pitching and they should be a strong contender to win it all. |

Blessed Trinity has a tough one tonight against Columbus. Alpharetta and Greenbrier should be a barn burner, and of coarse Brookwood and Lassiter should be intense! It's crunch time for sure. |

Lassiter lost to Brookwood, looked like a pretty one sided game. |

Final 4's are set and for the most part the predictable teams are there, in each class. The winner of these games will require great/good pitching, timely hitting, and of course LUCK!!! Going to be fun. |

Yes, my son knows and has played with many of the players that are on these remaining teams. I'm going with the teams below to be crowned state champs!
Blessed Trinity in 4A Alpharetta in 6A Woodstock in 7A |

Can Gwinnett County baseball receive some recognition? 3 out of the 4 remaining teams in AAAAAAA are Gwinnett County teams. Parkview is going to take the crown in 7A and Buford or Loganville will take 5A. |

7A had some great games last night. Both of the 2nd games going to extras, now both series are headed to "IF" games. It will be interesting to see who has enough pitching left.
Most of the other games will be played tonight, hopefully. They should've moved ALL the games to yesterday because of the impending weather. |

You don't have to give any recognition, Gwinnett will still be better than your sons HS team and your whole county in all sports |

Didn't know GA HS Baseball was a Cobb thing. Cobb just monetized and profit from baseball. More draft picks and D1 commits out of Gwinnett than any other county. I'm still sticking with Brookwood and Loganville. |

That's fine. Than we'll take our recognition and respect! |

Yep, it's been a good ride for my son, but ended last night for his team. I'm thankful for the experience he got to share. Now, it's off to travel ball and the next chapter. Good luck to all the remaining teams playing for the state championship! |

Guess it's not a Cobb thing. Shhh, dont tell anyone that a 10th grader almost shut out Woodstock in the final game. |

Looking at the high school enrollment numbers per GA Dept of Education as of March 2018, I'd say that's probably a safe statement. Gwinnett has 60% more students than Cobb, and 87% more than Fulton.
Gwinnett County 55,589 Cobb County 34,703 Fulton County 29,660 DeKalb County 26,842 Clayton County 14,653 Forsyth County 14,135 Henry County 14,036 Cherokee County 13,179 APS 11,887 Paulding County 9,079

@Punishers
At this point, if you made it to the Final 4, there was no shame for any of the remaining teams. Many of these series went 3 games which tells you the competition was good. Congrats to Parkview, they are solid. |

That's an impressive 10th grader then, they have lots of college commits. Kid should be proud! |
