This is how I see it with some comments

1. Jacksonville Warriors White-The early second place as resonated. Coached up and ready to rock and roll. These boys are hungry.
2. Prospects Baseball Academy-Pitching will be key could flip flop these two rivals.
3. Ponte Vedra Thunder Blue-Missing one piece of the puzzle and they still have not filled it. They are up and coming with some quality pitchers.
4. CBC Mudcats-The new RiverTown Power!!!!
5. CBC Riverhawks-Have some power but when they do not go yard the bases end up clogged.
6. Central Florida Gators–Great team but field is too strong.

Well, looks like the top 3 of the tourny are on the same side of the bracket so the winner will probably come from there.

08:30 AM First Pitch: Ponte Vedra Thunder Blue Strike Quick and Strong Over the CBC Mudcats 14-3

This game was a tight for all but one inning. The pitcher of Ponte Vedra was very sound with solid mechanics. Whoever he is working with or if natural this player has talent. The Mudcats seemed off kilter. The Ponte Vedra bats where on fire and working the count effectively. The coaching of both teams was on point. Evidently this Ponte Vedra team is a rec ball based program with players from some 60 miles away and that practices as a team are difficult. I said two weeks ago that this team needed more time together and could be a strong force with the talent we saw on the field. This appears to have come to fruition.

10:50 AM First Pitch: Ponte Vedra Thunder Blue Go 2-for-2 Against Rivertown Shutting down the Powerhouse CBC Riverhawks

The pitching again was on fire and with the barrage of bats made the path slightly easier for tier pitcher on the bump. It was as if this pitcher saw things with his eyes that others did not see as he kept the huge power-hitters off balance and guessing constantly. Holding the CBC line up is something to be proud of. The wind seemed to be out of the sails of the coaches and players of CBC. CBC could come back on Sunday and win it all with the talent they have. They need a leader to step forward from the player ranks.

Having seen this Thunder team on multiple occasions they are sound and talented.

A little slow on the draw as the pain is still acute 4 to 6 weeks for full recovery.

5:50 PM 4/12/14 First Pitch: Prospect Baseball Academy and Brevard Aces Battle to a 3-3 tie.

The pitching was a factor in this game. For the most part the bats where not coming thru. The Aces used multiple pitchers effectively to confuse the Prospects hitters. The Prospects used three with the bulk of innings by one who labored in the latter half. Error seem to be the bugaboo for the Prospects and their Power hitters did not deliver and when some did they where a liability on the bases. Both had opportunities to win. Need more player leadership and seems like the gelling process has yet to set in as it is early Spring. Coaching was excellent minus a few chirps from the buckets. Fun game to watch.

3:30 PM 4/12/14 First Pitch: Riverhawks School the Central Florida Gators on Great Pitching and Clutch Base Knocks by Notching a Tie 4-4

Great pitching on both sides but the nod goes to the CBC Squad with sound mechanics and poise on the bump. The Nationally ranked Gators looked lost when they could not put away the Hawks. The Hawks did well to shake off the early loss and credit goes to the coaching staff. Good work coaches at CBC as you stayed positive and had them ready to play. This Hawks team has the ability to catch something special this season.

The Gators had the big kids but they did not deliver where the Hawks more athletic group was nimble and focused. The Gators draw kids from around the state and did not seem to have practiced as a team nor gelled yet this Spring. Great game with some agile plays in the field.

Couple quick statements. 1)warriors and gators fell on same side of braket so thats that. 2) mudcats are READY for primetime after all that gutsy play they showed today. 3)Thunder blue is fixing to turn the page and some folks better take notice.

5220 Amen brother!!! Some disappointments and some stepping up early. You have to love how some stack up against a perennial power like CFGs!!!! And scroll up for my:

"4. CBC Mudcats-The new RiverTown Power!!!!"

And I was dead wrong on the Gators. But the talent gap is now negligible!

Our game versus coastal georgia had it all. What a game! Proud of the boys. Congrats to the Mudcats for staying humble and their parents. Pure class. Mudcat coaches keep doing it the classy way.

I think many of the teams proved It doesn't take kids from all over the state to compete and put a good product on the field. Just focus on developing these young men.

Not so fast.... The magic 8 ball is always right. But 5220 do I have to throw a Koolaburn Sterile Fire Blanket on ya? Our locals are ready for Primetime based on the parity I saw. Also those gator coaches where stressing big time in two close games I saw.

Oh,I got you. Just trying to help some, after the first round of bracket play there seemed to be signs of agonal respirations and lack of heart tones. The monitor was showing a rate, however all indications at this time appear to be P.E.A.
