FWIW, it has come to my attention that TBS has sent an email notification to the participants indicating that late last night, they received word at 11:00 p.m. that Team Atlanta had decided not to participate in this week's tournament (insinuating it was the first notification). That statement is completely untrue. Team Atlanta signed up for the tournament in April. Team Atlanta didn't pay the $500 deposit or the total $1,000 entry fee - in fact, they didn't pay a dime to TBS - ever. Rather, upon deciding to enter another tournament this weekend, on June 14 at 9:24 p.m. (10 days ago), Team Atlanta sent an email to TBS which stated in full, "Team Atlanta (11U) has decided not to participate in the TBS National Championship. Thank you." I understand the need for TBS to send a CYA email to its participants, but let's just say it wasn't one that was in any way factually accurate. Perhaps I could suggest it would be a good business practice in the future to actually check who has paid for your tournaments before sending out the schedule - 9 hours before the first pitch of the first game. Good luck to all teams this weekend. |
