The 9U Fury Black team will be hosting two tryouts for the 2017-2018 season. Players will need to be 9 years old before May 1, 2018 to be drafted for this team. We will be competing at AA/AAA level throughout the season. We will be looking for players that are giving 100% effort all the time with a positive attitude. The families are just as important as the players because this is for travel ball and not rec ball. There is a commitment to the game.
The coaching staff is committed to building a strong baseball foundation as well as the character of the child. We are a multi-sport friendly team as we highly recommend other sports are played in the fall and winter. We will be using a professional pitching coach during the season as well as hitting and catching instructors. The team will practice at South Cherokee Park and Fury Performance Training Center. We will also have the players in speed and agility training during the winter months.
Players should arrive 30 minutes early to the tryouts to get warmed up. The players will be put through several stations to highlight their hitting, pitching, fielding, catching and baserunning abilities. The tryouts will last roughly two hours each day.
