Can anyone tell me the difference in 10u softball and baseball? Other than the ball size, and infield mask?

I'd say biggest difference is field dims, especially pitching distance. Obvious things like softball doesn't play off base which they never do at any age. And, a lot more dugout chants in softball haha. Also, softball tourneys are one day, typically Saturday, all day. Girls play 5-7 games sometimes in a day. There's no pitcher limits, nothing for pitchers to throw 10-15 innings in a day.

Softball
Pitching distance is 35'
Bases 60'

Baseball
Pitching distance 46'
Bases 65'

I think dropped 3rd strike isn't in effect in 10u softball. Also, there is a rule about baserunners having to be in motion to a base when the pitcher gets to the circle. No juking back and forth, they'll be called out for that. I don't know if that's just some sanctions or all of them. It might vary. Oh, and time limits, to keep games on schedule there are some drop dead time limits, especially in pool games. Games will end with a batter in mid at bat.

This has been a learning experience for SURE!

Ball is bigger, and sometimes yellow

No infield fly rule

No dropped third strike rule

10 players on the field (yes TEN!)

HP is only 35 ft away

If you play infield you have to wear a mask during your defense...so weird
