Can someone please tell me why PG and PBR are offering Grade Level Tournaments (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior) this Fall 2019 vs. Age Level (15U, 16U, 17U)?

Is there a reason for this? There are so many people confused with what level their ballplayer needs to play this year, all because of this change. Would love to hear what people think of this and what adjustments Coaches are making to rosters because of it?

Apparently been the standard operating procedure for PG for a while, fall is grade, spring birthday. The difference this year was they posted the tournaments with grade name, which caused the initial confusion. I know it caused me to reach out and confirm that spring would go back to birthdate. If anything it really clarified how birthday effects fall tournaments.

As for roster depth, not making any real changes for our group. Could potentially pick up an older player for bracket pitching depth, but not super concerned with playing up. Wood bats are the great equalizer anyway, so thats going to be mainly what we play.

It's not a change, they have had it that way for at least 5 years.
