With tryouts now over for all teams, what teams do yall think will stand out this season? Now that everyone will be playing 60/90 there shouldn't be any confusion on who the best teams are.

If you could post a roster of all the teams so that we can analyze who went where, then we may be able to give you some accurate predictions. Until all of the "rumors" of who is where are over, then it is a crap shoot.

Agree, how many 2023's play HS and play 15u when HS is over vs playing 14u, I think the landscape changes a bunch at 14U, need to see what the rosters look like.

Based on rumors, and seeing some play this fall, I'd say it's the same cast of characters at the top.

(No particular order)
HP Searcy (did the 2023's moving on hurt that much?)
GA Jackets National (they loaded up)
Titans Blue
GAP Myers (key additions)
Astros Navy (just like last year, and showed well at LP this weekend)
Meridian Panthers (loaded up even more than last year)
Smarttense Scout Team
Cellblock
5-Star National
Canes

What's interesting is the more I'm hearing of people not committing to any one team (so they don't have to pay), and they are just picking up from weekend to weekend with different teams. Gone are the days of 'team'. It's now replaced with, which team is playing in the biggest tourney on any given weekend to give their kid a chance to be seen and play deep. Think: Hired Guns.

Of course, no one may be full strength until after spring break, giving the Freshman a chance to finish up JV (those who do not get called up to V). It'll be interesting to see how things pan out. Not to mention, plenty of teams cutting kids and having more tryouts, hard to tell how it will all shake out. With all of that said, you may not even see some of the top teams compete until the bigger PG and PBR tourneys, especially 'on age'. Some of the above mentioned teams barely have played "14U" at all this fall. They've been playing in Freshman, Sophomore, or even Underclass events.

They have some studs for sure. I knew that young man you mentioned, was on there. Their catching trio is unmatched in the entire southeast.

The only hesitation is how the 'new' kids get treated from the long-time 'favorites'...

It is hard to predict the future but I am HIGH on the Georgia Jackets this year. They are an All Star team in the making if everyone plays nice and shows back up in February. And HP Searcy will be good, like always. That program is solid and managed efficiently. You don't ever hear a lot of internal complaints about them and that is to be commended. I watched them win a lower level 1 day tournament a few weeks ago. They put up 31 runs and looked solid. Another team I saw in that tournament was the Orange Colt 45s. They went 3-0 as well and put up 22 runs.

Last year the 13U Orange Colt 45s were quietly the best team at East Cobb at 13U. They were much better than either of the Astros teams. They have kids on their team that look like grown men. But the Navy Astros will be the stronger team this year, I think. Their coaching staff casts a wide net and grabs a lot of talent. They will not be as good as their 14U team was last year because the hitting on the current roster just isn't as good, and last year's team was special, but they will probably regain the top spot at the park back from the Orange 45s. They have a deeper talent pool in sheer numbers and a lot of good pitching.

Last year I attended almost every PG tournament at 643 and about half of the ones at East Cobb. I plan to do the same again this season. I am very familiar with the 643 and East Cobb teams as well as most of the other teams that participate regionally in the tournaments at these parks.

643 is still behind the talent at East Cobb. The 13U teams at 643 last season were disappointing and it appeared that kids on the B and C teams were way better than kids on the A team. I don't know if it is politics or daddy ball but the BEST kids were not on the BEST team and that is going to hurt them down the line. But they do seem to do a much better job at this as the kids get older.

Rumor has it that Jackets having a difficult time keeping talent due to favoritism. Astros Orange appear to be top of the class, if their pick ups play with them, and not their primary team. When you have as deep of a pool as the Astros do, it stands to reason that they would be top. I'm hearing rumors out of the Astros camp that Orange will roster 18-21 kids at almost every tourney, while Navy (if it stays together) will have 11-12. Again, just rumors.

We will all see where the proof is, in mid-late May when all the h/s players join their travel squads. Anything before mid-May is meaningless.

Don’t know a ton about the age group but what about Team Elite Premier? They finished the PG rankings last year as the highest ranked team in GA but I didn’t see them in the mix above. Did they lose kids or was there something wrong with the ranking?
