FAQ's

Due to the number of emails, texts, and overall interest Team Georgia Baseball Academy will be conducting pre-tryout workouts for rising 13u players in May. These workouts are open to players who would like to interact with coaches, get in some extra reps and training in preparation for full-time 54/80 & 60/90 baseball. It also helps for our coaches to develop a relationship with players and families prior to formal tryouts in June/July.

Team Georgia has a proven track record and process of developing players for varsity success and college and MLB draft. We instill a culture and mindset for success. We have over 400 players that have received college scholarships and / or been drafted including the expected potential #1 pick in the next MLB draft. We do not have parent coaches and run our program without rental players and fill in’s from other teams or out of state guys that play on multiple teams. We are also not bound by county specific roster limits.

Our 13u model is as follows:
Team Georgia – Gold (High Major / D1)
Team Georgia – Elite (AAA/Major)

We realize the number of travel baseball organizations continues to increase seemingly year after year. Setting a course for 13u (transitioning to 54/80 and 60/90 fields) 14, 15, 16, 17, etc is important and past success in player development, varsity achievements, and collegiate/pro network of coaches and scouts is important in selecting a program. When taking the next step after the 9-12u “youth” baseball years, it is recommended that families consider organizational track records and achievements. We look forward to the opportunity to work with dedicated players and families. Thank you for your interest in Team Georgia Baseball Academy.

Thank you for your interest in Team Georgia Baseball.

Our 12u model is as follows:
Team Georgia – Gold (High Major / D1)
Team Georgia – Elite (AAA/Major)

Will either of these 12U "Gold" or "Elite" teams be formed from the "Team Georgia 11U" team we saw the weekend of May 4-6 in the Triple Crown D2/D3 Spring Fling?

Or will these "High Major/D1" and "AAA/Major" teams be new/additional teams for the upcoming season?

(I didn't see anything about that tourney posted on the TGBA website or twitter account, so that may even be a completely different organization???)

NOTE: THIS IS FOR FALL 2018 & SPRING/SUMMER 2019 RISING 12U. TGBA does not "form" teams. Each season we conduct evaluations as young players develop at various rates. A 10 or 11 year old player may be at a certain level at that age and develop in to a high level varsity, college, or professional player. This years expected #1 overall draft pick hit his stride during his teen years playing for TGBA and continued on to dominate SEC baseball. Players that started out playing AA/AAA, whether at TGBA or other programs as 10 or 11's have advanced to high D1 players. Hopefully this addresses your post. If this does not adequately address your post or you have specific questions you are welcome to email tgbaseball23@hotmail.com Thank you for your interest in Team Georgia Baseball.

Thanks for your reply. Not sure what the best term is, but one way or another, teams are "formed." And tryouts are a pretty standard way to go about doing that.

It's also pretty typical for several players from any given team to return to that same team the following season, which often makes that prior year's team one of the more reliable indicators of the level of play one should expect in the upcoming season.

It makes sense that last year's TGBA tryouts post for an 11U "Gold" team resulted in the "Team Georgia 11U" team we saw in the May 4-6 Triple Crown D2/D3 Spring Fling tourney.

If that info helps give people a little better idea what to expect for these 12U "Gold (High Major/D1)" and "Elite (AAA/Major)" teams promoted in this tryout, then that is a good thing.

Thanks again for your reply, and best wishes for TGBA's continued success developing these young men!
