This post is actually for PaPa but anybody thats played this team can help me. Papa I see that the TPSA Bandits beat Alabama Attack 11-3 and 8-0 the Bandits (you guys) on the other hand beat them 3-2, can you explain ? I would honestly like to know your thoughts on the Attack. We played them once last year and beat them pretty good but we put it to them only late in the game. If I remember correctly they had a good lefty that threw hard and the hook. Just fishing !!

C'mon Georgia come to Pensacola. There are some teams signed up that don't deserve to go to Disney and alot of your teams do. We have our berth and if we make it to the championship game whoever makes it with us goes to Disney. With the teams signed up I believe the Georgia teams could make it a great tourney. Here is the director Eric Ervin (850)-450-8293 he is also Florida's USSSA State director. So come on Sandtown Red Sox, Kennessaw Express, 643 DP Cougers, East Cobb Tigers and all other major teams. I know that Stixx Baseball is comming, thats why I didn't mention you guys. Lets get it on!!!

10BB: Things might be looking sunny in Florida but up here in the mountains we are going through a depression. If it keeps up we are going back to a broom stick and tape ball. No more money for Exo bats or a new baseball every game. I would think that a few of our wealthier Atlanta teams might want to come.

No teams looking to come to Pensacola?
10 BB Posted - 05/18/2009 : 18:32:30
PaPa; Thanks for the positive words. We played in another 11u tourney this weekend and won. We run ruled two 11u teams on Sunday. We fill playing up should help some.We will take off next weekend. PaPa I would like to invite the Georgia teams to Pensacola 6/12/09 for the Last Chance S-NIT put on by Eric Ervin of USSSA and Georgia I promise this is a great USSSA director. School will be out then so come to the sunny beaches of Florida for a great tourney. PaPa I know you guys probably can't make the trip but get the other teams to participate. I would like to see Mizuno show up and the RBI Hawks and all those other "Central Florida" teams that think the "North Florida" teams aren't up to snuff.
baseballpapa Posted - 05/17/2009 : 18:20:18
I agree with 10BB and think that Disney got the right team for their tourney. Although the Bandits had the berth it was not won on the field and from the way the Bay Bombers started out Sunday at the Super NIT they would have been hard for anyone to beat. Bandits hope the Bay Bombers take Disney just because they are a class act and a great baseball team.
10 BB Posted - 05/15/2009 : 13:59:37
We have excepted the Alabama S-NIT berth to Disney. We wish we could have played the tournament out and prove our worth on the field but mother nature had other plans. Now the Bombers are looking for that one stud that has the ability to pitch and hit to take with us. Anybody that would like to go to Disney and can hit the ball 300ft and can pitch 65mph+ go to the Bay Bombers web-site on leaguelineup.com and leave a message on the geustbook. Just kidding, looks like it will be a tough tournament and it will take our "A" game every game to compete but I belive we are up to the challange.
baseballpapa Posted - 05/14/2009 : 16:54:26
There will be a Disney and looks like our friends the Bay Bombers will be there as the Bandits just could not make it work. Make no mistake that we tried and we would love to be there but this has been an expensive year and although there seems to be bail out money for everything else the Bandits did not seem to qualify. Biz, You make sure that the Bombers play like we know they can and we wish you the best of luck.
10 BB Posted - 05/13/2009 : 17:44:23
Whats the score PaPa ; Disney or No Disney
10 BB Posted - 05/12/2009 : 19:09:47
If the Bandits don't take the berth the Bombers will!! We are next in line. The next S-NIT for us is a month away.
baseballpapa Posted - 05/11/2009 : 22:35:37
The Alabama Super NIT was cancelled due to rain on Sunday after only one game of bracket play. The Georgia Bandits and the Alabama TPSA Bandits were both 3-0 after pool play but the TPSA Bandits were the #1 seed according to the 1st tiebreaker of runs allowed. The Georgia Bandits were awarded the Disney berth as TPSA had prior committments and could not accept the berth. Even the Georgia Bandits have not yet accepted the berth and have 48 more hours to make a decision.

Pace Sea Dogs (2-1)

Because the bracket play got rained out, first place was given to TPSA Bandits. They turned down the berth to Disney and it was offered to the Bandits.

Whitlow: The fireballs and the big sticks were attractive but it takes more than skill to play with the Bandits. We look for the mindset of the kid. Does he love the game and does he play with a passion every single inning and although we loved the skills they possess we also love the way they play the game. This was the first weekend that we had an extended look at these two and we decided that they were Bandit type players. Players with no egos of where they bat or where they play but players that will be happy in doing whatever it takes to help the team. We were happy to ask these two to help us out in Cooperstown and no matter what happens with the wins and losses I know that all of our kids will remember the Cooperstown experience for the rest of their lives. This only happens to a handful of 10 year old kids and the Bandits and our two new friends hope that all who see us in Cooperstown will appreciate the way we play the game. We were also down to 9 players due to injury and they came along at a very good time.

Sounds like you guys went fishing in Gwinnett county and landed two big fish! There is a lot of talent here that doesn't get noticed as much because most teams play GGBL and don't play major. I'd have say those two fire ballers are exceptionally talented though and one of them really carries a big stick.

I hope I get to make it to a Bandit's game again some time because it is one of the best defensive teams I've ever seen.

Alabama Super NIT was another wash out for Bandits Baseball. They were only eight teams in this field but they were several outstanding teams including the Bay Bombers from Panama City, Beach, Pace Sea Dogs, Alabama Attack and TPSA Bandits. Bandits were undefeated and the #2 seed heading into Bracket Play with a 10-2 win over the Attack, 14-7 win over the Dirt Bags, and an exciting 7-2 win over our rivals the Bay Bombers. The Bay Bomber game was close to the end with the Bandits pulling away in the late innings.

Heading into Sunday and a potential rematch with the Bombers the rain came and play was suspended. The Bandits are sick of the rain and now that the drought is over hope to see little or no rain for a awhile.

With the victory the Bandits moved up to #1 in the USSSA power ranking but have played so little in USSSA that our points are still pretty low.

We also got another piece of good news by Travel Ball Select moving us up into the #7 national spot. I thank Travel Ball Select for recognizing the hard work the Bandits have put in this year.

10BB: Chalk up another awesome baseball game between the Bombers and Bandits. Another game that could have gone either way. We were very fortunate to pull this one out.

I will go on record before you do and say that the field was stacked against both of our teams before we ever got there. The other pool and bracket was not 1/2 as hard as ours and I will state that this is just my opinion but I watch a lot of games and feel that our bracket especially with 2 nationally ranked teams in it was by far the toughest ditch to plow. I will also state that I don't believe that I have ever played the pool and bracket without ever have the opportunity to play the other side of the pool.

They did give us the invite to Disney as the #1 team but I still do not know how as we were not the #1 seed although we were undefeated up to that point. We are having a parents meeting to discuss the possibility of Disney but are not ready to commit one way or the other until after this meeting.

Your #10 looked good especially that pitch he calls the cutter. We look forward to seeing you again.

PaPa; Looks like we both put a whippin on the Alabama Attack. That win moved us the Bombers to #3 in the country under USSSA rankings. We could lose ground tommorrow if the Bandits beat us but could surely pick up momentum with a win over them. We play the Dirtbags at 8:30am and the Bandits at 12:30. More info later

10BB: You have absolutely picked up two fine young men and Papa has not even the slightest problem with you getting them for Disney. After an extensive search and I promise you we looked high and low these are the same 2 we will use for Cooperstown. Even with them we will only take 11 players and that will probably be the smallest roster there. From the beginning we let everyone know that due to the number of games in such a short period and with our small roster that we would pick up 2 players for Cooperstown and it just so happens that you asked the same 2 about Disney. I will go even a step further and state for the record that Papa has had a dream or revelation (whatever you call them things) and I have seen these 2 in a Bandit uniform on a permanent basis. These 2 kids are not only 2 of the finest baseball players we have seen but after meeting with them and their Dad's (both are coaches) we feel are 2 of the finest kids and families we could have found. You know that I have a great amount of respect for the way the Bombers play the game and you also know that we all have to do what we feel is best for our kids. Looking at the Bombers is almost like looking in the mirror for the Bandits. Good luck

How do your parents react when you pick up a player for a tournament? I have a chance to pick up two kids for Panama City and they would put us over the top( not to say we would be at your level but we would be dang good). Both of them pitch and throw high 50"s low 60"s and they both hit for power with good speed. How do you work them in? My parents seem to get upset when we bring on new kids.Just curious!
10 BB Posted - 05/08/2009 : 07:47:42
PaPa I know how you feel about borrowed players but these two boys will be making the Disney trip with us if we qualify. We would love to take #20 with us to Disney as we are looking to beat Mizuno. We would also love to take the other lefty you guys have. Just a great thought.
baseballpapa Posted - 05/07/2009 : 12:25:28
I say we both beat them down, go to the State Park and let our kids play their hearts out. The Bandits will play anything your guys want to play. I have never seen any game that the Bandits didn't have fun playing. Look forward to seeing you once I find out where we are staying I will let you know. Hear you might have a surprise for us this weekend and just to let you know you have found 2 fine young men that can play some ball. You will love them both. I hope we get to play as the weather is not looking good for tommorrow. We have had so many rain outs that it is getting frustrating.
10 BB Posted - 05/07/2009 : 10:55:47
PaPa; I think it's kinda funny that last week we were talking about the Alabama Attack and now we both play them this weekend. What say you?
10 BB Posted - 05/07/2009 : 10:53:15
Sounds good to me PaPa. We are staying at the Best Western. We are thinking of going to the state park Sat. afternoon for some grilling and fun.
baseballpapa Posted - 05/06/2009 : 09:18:05
10BB: Try not to hurt any of our players as we will be playing this week with only 9 players available. We did this for 1/2 of last year and it is nerve wracking. Every time one of them slides or dives for a ball you get nervous. What hotel are you guys at. It would be neat if we get close together and maybe do something off the field and let the kids get to know each other better.

Good Luck and my prayer is that we meet the Bombers in the finals and we both play our best games.

Papa

Yes, I saw the brackets too and although I am not happy to play you in pool play, I am always happy to be on the field with such a quality team. We will try and bring our "A" game so that it will be a game we will all enjoy. You probably won't see much in pool play as we will need to save what little we have for the brackets. I hope the fields are as nice as I have been hearing and I also hope that the fences are set at the right distance.
