Just so everyone will know (who cares) two of the nations powerhouse teams have merged. The Bay Bombers and the Lynnhaven Longhorns have teamed up and created what we hope will be a contender for several
national titles. We look forward to playng some of the countries top teams and invite the compitition!

On paper this team should be a powerhouse but as we all know the game is not played on paper. And my friend 10bb knows this better than anyone. If this team retains the right coaching, decides that Team is more important than player and all agree to work together to achieve the same goal then they will be contenders. If they don't they won't. I know this group and I expect that they will do this the right way and I expect them to make some real "noise" in the 2011 season.

blosee;
I'll tell you something about that leadoff hitter, he is without a dought one the best leadoff hitters I've ever seen. Not only does he possess speed and agility, not only does he have great base running skills and the ability to think for himself but he also knows how to work the pitcher and see alot of pitches while at bat. This kid could play for me anytime and it would be an honor for my son to just be able to learn from him! Wow what a great pickup this player was and if you Georgians get the chance to watch this young man play you to will enjoy his mad skills.

Papa;
I don't know much about paper but I do know that we are not running from anybody! We are 8 pitchers deep and have quality sticks top to bottom. I don't know much about "the right way" but I can tell you win or lose it will be the Team Florida way.

HEY 10BB..."TEAM FLORIDA" SOUNDS LIKE A WINNING COMBINATION...I WAS VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THE HORNS AND BOMBERS WERE MERGING...I THINK BOTH TEAMS HAD TOPPED OUT...AND BY MERGING THE TOP COACHES AND PLAYERS FROM EACH TEAM, I BELIEVE THERE WILL BE GREAT SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE FOR THIS TEAM. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT...SEE YA SOON

10bb: You, of all the people that I know would know the right way and I expect this Team Florida to do it right. You can't pitch but one of them pitchers at a time and as you well know a lot depends on which one of them is on the bump at the right time. I expect that Team Florida will just be one more challenge for the great teams in this age division and I can't wait to share the field with you guys and I know that you feel the same way. Will the coaching staffs also merge or will the Bombers or Longhorns take the reins.

Papa: Just curious. How many of the current bandits players are from the original 9U bandits team? It is obvious the bandit team has picked up studs in recent years. Like I said, I am just curious.

The 12U Bandits team will include 7 of the 10 kids that played at 9U. I believe that this is correct but one of the 7 came on board late in the year.

Only 1 new player a year on average, and all the rest still cant catch up. I get a chuckle out of that. My crystal ball says they might nick you guys a bit more in 12u, but in the end, the Bandits will still be #1.

10bb I couldn't agree with you more regarding the leadoff hitter from Georgia. I get to enjoy his "mad skillz" from time to time and it is indeed a pleasure!

bmoser: I totally agree that the Bandits will still be the best in GA. If the Bandits and Team Florida play it should be a Pay Per View game :)

I can say this and say it with a lot of conviction. Getting to the top of mountain was much easier than standing on the top of the mountain beating down the one's that want to throw you off the top. I can also tell you that the Bandits got to the top of the mountain by working hard and working long and that this practice will not stop this year. I like the moves that the Bandits have made and do not think we have made our last move. I can't promise you that the Bandits will be #1 next year but I can promise you that we will work our tails off trying to be #1. I have said it for years and I will repeat if one more time and that is that there is no tougher place to play youth travel baseball week in and week out than the State of Georgia and then just when you think you have Georgia figured out the great teams from Florida are standing by to show you why they ended #1 in 2010.

It will be very intersting to see how the chemistry works out on Team FL after these kids and coaches facing each other as cross town rivals for so long.

Team Florida coaches get it...and they will be great for the boys, and team chemistry. Baseball is their passion, and their passion will rub off on all of the boys from the two teams that have merged together after playing against each other for years. They all know one another well, and will play the game the right way, with great energy. My grandson BFOX6 has dubbed these guys as The Team Florida "LongBombers"...but they are full of speed and defense..8 deep in pitching, and hit for average, as well. Can't wait to see them play!
