I speak to a few people here and there that are affiliated with teams from N. Atlanta and S. Atlanta and have been to three of the training academys in those areas to just see who what when and where and I have been really impressed with some of the pitching I'm seeing. I can't wait for this season to start so we can see who the top 5 - 10 teams are in the major and triple A divisions are. After the reclassifications and some thought I'm going to change my top five picks and repost. There were only a handful of teams listed when I originally posted.

I meant no harm by mentioning the OTC player that left for E.C.Y. being their best. I do believe he was one of the top pitchers around though. I know that OTC is talent deep so no harm no foul.

Beyond the top three (ECB Lonhorns, Yankees, and Yard Dogs), the next best are without question: Acworth, OP Sharks, Ringgold, and 643. Sandy Plains, OTC, Covington, Signature Park Falcons, and Wills Park can play with teams given the right match up, but they simply lack the depth and they're not major teams. Regardless, it won't bother me if it turns out differently. Let the kids have fun, and good luck teams.

Travelballer55 - I agree, clearly the Yard Dogs, Longhorns and Yankees where the top teams in the state last year. That gap did close as the year went on, just look at the TC State, and I think you'll see it even more this year with many of the teams playing a 2nd year of kid pitch. I won't be surprised if we see more upsets this year and possible one or more of these teams out of the top 3 by years end.

Looks like Bubba has his four teams to represent GA is the Florida vs. Georgia NIT

Georgia Yard Dogs
East Cobb Longhorns
North Cobb Warriors
West Forsyth Diamond Dogs

I don't know how the final selections where made (maybe since Bubba started this thread he'd like to share) but I do wish the teams from GA good luck with the boys from FL!

Availability may have been a factor as the tournament is being played Easter weekend.

Has anyone seen or heard if the 10u Astros are playing. I have heard nothing about them this year. Do they have a team?

They did in the fall. We (SPX) played them in the OP Sharks tourney in Nov.

The 10u ECB Astros do have a team, just haven't played in any tourneys yet.

Are the Astros the number 1 team at ECB like older age groups? I don't see them signed up for Slugfest, Bluejays, or Super NIT. What is going on?

I think you're right, the Longhorns and Yard Dogs where easy picks but with all the changes it would have been best to let the last two teams play in but with the schedule that may not have been an option.

I'm not sure at what age the ECB Astro's is the best team from tryouts, but I think it is around 13 or 14. I see a coulpe of names on the roster from the former ECB Navigators, but am not familiar with the rest of the team. It doesn't sound like they are playing in any early majors so they might be feeling the water in some other tournaments.

Not number 1 at 10u. They are not the top of the pecking order like the older brackets. Doesn't mean they won't put a good team together though. Longhorns are number 1 at 10U in my opinion.

It doesnt work that way at the younger age groups. The Longhorns and Yankees are the cream of the crop for 10U at ECB. I think the Astros were formed fairly late in the Fall, so a lot of people dont know that much about them. I heard they played a few tournaments in the Fall, but I haven't seen them scheduled for anything in the Spring. Im sure we will see them soon enough...
